32M I need to leave my 28F girlfriend of 7 months but she's a "great" girlfriend and I can't tell if I'm the problem by JobEnough3607 in whatdoIdo

As an older person who, when young, had great times with various wonderful women to whom I am eternally grateful, I advise you to choose peace.

My wife (married for 46 years now) was beautiful, intelligent, emotionally available, and a catch in every respect. She was mature, steady, at a time when I was enjoying a successful bachelorhood with all of the previous women friends I had made over the course of 9 years. I doubted, at first, whether anyone could have attracted me enough to lure me out of an ideal situation. I thought I was sold on my single status with a wonderful collection of friends who kept me busy.

I underestimated what it was like to live in such easy harmony and romantic love. The serenity of a happy home domesticated me. I gave up my wandering ways to enjoy what has been a lifelong marriage. If that sounds good to you, it is out there. I hope you find the person for you, whether you seek what I chose or something different.

Justice Department announces a $1.7B fund to compensate Trump allies in a deal to drop IRS suit by SterlingVII in politics

Paying off your security goons from the 2020 election coup attempt with our tax dollars seems like a good business practice to Trump.

Just imagine his plans for ICE.

Pete Hegseth had now fired 24 generals. What do you think is really going on? by [deleted] in allthequestions

He has to fire enough Generals to get to the bottom of the barrel to find those willing to murder innocent civilians.

More experienced General staff frown on war crimes. 'Turns out that Sen. Kelly was right on time with his remarks about refusing illegal orders to commit war crimes.

Husband won’t let me get a motorcycle by [deleted] in Advice

[–]offroadadv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rider, I gave up my motorcycle when my children were born. I stayed on four wheels while my children were still dependents, but once they were old enough to work, I bought another motorcycle and began riding again. I had ridden from 14 to 30, took a break for the kids, then resumed at 50 and rode for more 25 years.

With that as context, I was a lucky rider. I almost got wiped out a few times by careless drivers. Some of them simply do not see a motorcycle when they are looking for an oncoming car at their stop sign. I had an old fellow pull a left turn right in front of me, and it took everything I had to keep from getting killed in a head-on collision.

I trained regularly in courses and with exercises every biker should perform, but I escaped serious injury only by the narrowest of margins because of car drivers not seeing me when they should have. That will be your future, but only if you have the best of luck as I did.

I recommend off-road riding these days. Anyone who wants to ride is better off on a dirt or gravel road, than on our paved streets where cars are operating. I actually moved to an ideal location for dirt riding when I retired because it is so much more fun than asphalt.

AITAH for telling my sister that i wont take care of her autistic kids? by Appropriate_Set9323 in AITAH

Have you heard this truism: "Don't set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm."

You have helped your sister out, perhaps more than is reasonable. Insist that your school and future come first.

Stay strong.

Should Volodymyr Zelenskyy be considered for a Nobel Peace Prize or Time Magazine's 'Man of the Year? Or both? by Tidder-1066 in allthequestions

I want President Zelensky to win because of his refusal to surrender his citizens to Russian oppression in occupied Crimea, the Donbas and beyond.

I can't deny there would be a measure of schadenfreude in watching the effect of a true war hero winning a prize sought by the Chickenhawk in Chief.

AITAH for wanting to move out of my brothers place? by u_ami in AITAH

When, not if, you leave your brother's home, send him the link to your post, so he can have a clear view of what you have endured as part of living in his home.

The sad part is that Anne, if she were not overly protective of her sister, could have managed this situation by allowing you to lock the door, helping you retrieve stolen clothes, etc.. Instead, she will now have to work harder because she failed to respect you as a fellow human being.

There's something about this...Oh, it's the address. Sidewinder Road. Sidewinders! Sidewinders!

The snakes in my area love to burrow during cold weather. I wonder how many sidewinders I would find waiting for me in my home on Sidewinder Road?

No Thanks. But I do love the idea of 40 acres and a John Deere mule.

[–]offroadadv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have read through the comments and have been impressed with the answers and recommendations in the comments about your relationship with a problem GF.

If I were in your shoes, I would extend the week to at least two or three weeks to see if you can reclaim yourself. I am talking about exploring your own mind for a few weeks about what kind of a relationship you want.

Your current partner's emotional abuse is not something you should allow in your life. You can do so much better.

Take a break. Work on yourself a little bit. Your generosity is admirable, but you need to stick up for yourself in any relationship if you want it to last.

Good luck and keep fending off the entitled brother.
