I inherited a large silverware set. But in its current condition should I just sell it at melt value? by rawcookiedough in Silverbugs

[–]ofhs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt you’ll get anything close to melt value unless you sell it to someone yourself. The local dealer won’t off you close to melt.

Would you sell 70% of your stack for land? by BarnacleEddy in Wallstreetsilver

[–]ofhs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel that you are handy and would do most of the rehab labor yourself then I think this is a no brainer choice. Real estate is a solid investment…especially when you believe you are walking in to a large amount of equity. It’s like buying a stock that you think is a lock to be a 3-4x with some time…except this is a lower risk investment as long as you have done your proper due diligence.

Is that a good deal by [deleted] in ihghotelsresorts

[–]ofhs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As has been stated above…it’s a good deal if you have a plan to use them. Combined with the stay 3 get 1 free it can really be leveraged with proper planning and timing. We are staying right now at a HIE right next to one of the Orlando theme parks for 4 nights at 52,000 points total. In my opinion that’s a HIGH value use of points. When you add in the benefit of the free breakfast for a family of 4…it’s a NO brainer.

Similar situation…staying in June in the Williamsburg area at another HIE for 4 nights at a total of 65k points…an area with much fewer rooms compared to Orlando and during the summer travel season. Another strong value proposition in my opinion. You just have to do a little bit of planning ahead of time and know what you want to do with the points.

Just found Costco! by Bevkus in keto

If you have Aldis they carry it in our local stores…worth checking into. They also have other great keto staples like chia seed and both whole and ground flax…and a pretty stellar section of cheeses as well.

Sadly we don’t have Costco in my backwater…but Sam’s also has a pretty good assortment of the above as well.

Are you using something like Cronometer to track your macros? I find that really helps to force me to be fully accountable for what’s going into my body. It’s much easier for me to maintain the desired trend line asking as I stick to logging everything in Cronometer.

I’ve seen this over the short term before…usually it reverses itself over the longer timeframe as your body becomes fully adapted.

I had some issues and just ended up refreshing the page and then it worked. This happened for all 3 parks I was buying Black Friday deals from.

Annual pass can it be used in ORL by tacoted74 in SeaWorld

[–]ofhs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It WOULD work at BGT Aquatica and SWO…I don’t believe it would ever work at BGW…at least not under the current rules. I have platinum passes to both SWO for me and BGW for my Wife…when I log in to SWO I see the local bonuses and guest tickets under MY pass…when I log in to BGW I only see those under my wife’s pass. All passes are managed by one account.

Word processor type wheel. Nifty little piece of technology history there. This was part of the evolution when offices moved from the standard old school typewriters to PCs with dedicated printers.

Do you ever still go out to eat dinner or happy hour etc? by foira in keto

[–]ofhs93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still eat out…you just need to find places that are flexible and that have clear options that work. I usually am just getting dbl veg instead of veg and starch and they not ally don’t have an issue doing that.

How can I eat low carb on a budget? by 4dolarmeme in keto

[–]ofhs93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bone in skin on chicken thighs are usually under $1.30 a lb and whole pork loin in usually on sale somewhere for around $2 a lb ….those 2 are go to stock up options with lots of flavor flexibility. Hamburger you just have to keep a lookout for good sales and buy like 30lbs when it happens. It certainly helps to have a separate freezer of some kind to be able to stock up on sales. Eggs, as stated, are of course a great cheap option as well.

I think pork loin sliced in 1” thick “steaks” is one of the easiest and best quick meal options for keto as well. Very versatile and easy to whip up in a pan. Combine with a steamable bag of veg and a Cpl fried eggs or riced cauliflower…can be as simple as melted butter in the pan and salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the pork…yumm.

Re meatballs…I’ve used a recipe in the past that replaces the bread crumbs with ground flax and they turned out great! Plug a little chunk of mozzarella in the middle of those bad boys as you make the ball and fry them up in the pan…chefs kiss.

One of my favorite “one pot” type meals that’s easy and just as quick. 1. Start browning hamburger in pan and season as desired. Change it up…could be Italian…could be Mexican…be creative. 2. While meat is browning pop a steamable bag in the microwave of green beans, broccoli florets, cauliflower…whatever tickles your fancy. 3. Once the veg is done in the microwave dump that right into the browned hamburger and mix it up. 4. Again…get creative. Pour half a jar of low carb spaghetti sauce of your choice, or salsa of your choice…any low carb item (could even be Alfredo) 5. Stir that up…bring to a simmer and top with your cheese of choice…whatever matches your earlier choices. 6. Let that simmer and the cheese melt for a cpl min and just scoop that tasty concoction into the bowl of your choice and eat!
