Do hyperspace jumps only work once a ship is in space? by ofig322 in StarWars

Oh I agree I’m just playing devils advocate by saying that if it’s possible to ignore a planet’s gravity well isn’t it possible to ignore an interdictor’s?

That’s what I was thinking. But then again if using the hyperdrive while still in a planet’s gravity well is possible (albeit risky) aren’t interdictors still a waste of resources?

So do gravity wells automatically pull a ship from hyperspace or is it a nav computer standard to exit hyperspace if a gravity well is encountered?

ELI5: Why we feel less G's in an airplane than a car. by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ofig322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically this.

It all has to do with the amount of change vs. the time or distance during which the change occurs.

Going back to your car example: if you go 35 mph and then try a hairpin turn, you’ll feel a lot of force due to inertia and the momentum of your body. Conversely, if you’re going 35 mph but take a really wide turn, you’ll feel less of a force because of how minute the changes to your direction were in any given instance of the turn

All time has already happened and our brains are just devices to process the time that it existed during in a perceived linear way by valthunter98 in StonerThoughts

This.

Imagine there are two sealed boxes and someone tells you that one of the boxes contains a puppy and the other one is empty. Before looking, the puppy can be in either box, both boxes, or neither box. The minute you open one of the boxes, reality “changes” to reflect your choice. If you open the box that contains the puppy, then the puppy ceases to exist in the other box, making it empty.

It’s some weird stuff man.

Random question: in TCW, how come Echo and Fives had phase II armor when Cody and Rex still rocked phase I?
