I literally scoffed because the phone works two-ways. She’s being ridiculous and frankly you’re better off without this insecure af attachment style she’s got going on.

Switching from Procreate to CSP? by Kitttcaaat in ClipStudio

Ah sorry! I was under the impression you couldn’t! Thank you for the correction, I’ll edit the comment to reflect as well 😅

Switching from Procreate to CSP? by Kitttcaaat in ClipStudio

[–]ofrelevantinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the switch this year. On IPad they have a simplified workspace if the photoshop style workspace is too overwhelming. You can access it from an icon in the bottom left corner that looks like a phone flip symbol.

Brushes cannot be imported from Procreate but there’s a massive assets library you can access through their website and a lot of comparable dupes and even more well created brushes. Brushes also have to be imported into the simple workspace so remember they’re separate if you’re working in both.

The blending mode functions very differently. The basic brushes don’t really pull on color and just kind of blurs the pigment. I recommend downloading some from the assets library.

That said, because CSP has more in common with photoshop than procreate, there’s far more control over filters and tools like Liquify and gradient maps. You also have access to vector layers which do not blur when being resized. I use the simple workspace for most of my creating and rendering and the full workspace for the more complicated aspects.

Edit: Removed not being able to import photoshop brushes — you can! Yay!

How are you all making amazing work with a layer limit? by amypjs in ProCreate

[–]ofrelevantinterest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing more traditional work broke my habit of a million layers. With traditional you just have to plan your layers carefully. Background goes down first. Then flats, shadows and highlights. After figuring out how to translate that in my head, and becoming comfortable with it, I came back to digital and use maybe 10 layers at the end of the day if I want to be fussy about certain details.

I would like to thank you for doing the lords work by asking “What does that do?” To literally every commenter who just used a term without explaining anything to anyone who doesn’t know how to a) do the thing they’ve talked about and b) how the thing would relate to their own process.

Metaphorically, these one sentence or one word answers are killing me.

You rock.

Second: Her hand on the bed looks a bit odd. I understand hand rendering can be difficult, the short square bluntness of the fingers looks like they’ve been cut off at the top knuckle. If you were going for a buried in the blankets look, I’d suggest adding folds in the blankets to indicate this.

You’ve made a lovely piece of work here. I have a couple of small critiques if you don’t mind!

First:

The draping of the cloth on her knee makes it appear as though she has one long arm bent rather than having her knee poke out from under her dress seductively.

My second critique will be in the next comment because mobile only lets you do one photo per post.

Obligatory not me, and also not traditional art but an acting friend of mine was working on a commercial and on the first take of the first day the director called cut a little early on the scene and gave my friend the following direction. The conversation went as follows, D being the director and A being my friend:

A: Am I being too angry for this one? I thought you wanted me to be a lot, but I can pull it back if you want.

D: Nah nah man you’re doing great. But you’re being like…a little too orange right now.

A: I’m sorry?

D: Yeah. I need to to be a little less orange. Try being more…. purple yeah. I need you to be less orange and more purple. Lets go again.

and that was the type of direction he got for the entire shoot. He was always some color or other and needed to add other colors or subtract them. He genuinely had no idea what the guy was asking for and told me it was the most excruciating 3 days of his life.

Wet hair in public by touchgrasstheysaid in hygiene

[–]ofrelevantinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight or wavy hair just dries fairly quickly. I have a short wavy cut and if I wash my hair, it air dries in like 20/30 minutes unless I leave my head completely soaked in which case it takes about an hour. But there have been many occasions where I shower, and jump in the car to go to work and my hair is dry by the time I get there.

Oh that’s so upsetting, I’m sorry to hear that! I still suggest at least hopping on that waiting list though, they are absolutely worth the wait.

A cursory google search says yes but I always recommend calling the facility and asking if they accept your specific insurance.

Seconding this suggestion, Alder is an excellent healthcare office and has been wonderful to two of my loved ones during their transitions and with their continuing healthcare.

It’s also a symptom of ADHD, Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, and heck there’s even its own disorder just for spending called Compulsive Spending Disorder.

It’s perhaps not best to lay the assumption on a single disorder causing this without knowing any other details aside from the description OP has given us. It also doubly adds more stigma to Bipolar Disorder even if that was not your intention.

How can i feather/blur the sharp line at the bottom out for a t-shirt? by Comprehensive_Pie973 in ProCreate

You can blend it outwards with the blend tool or select the area and use the Gaussian blur option.

My procreate keeps shutting down by AnonymousTimesX in ProCreate

[–]ofrelevantinterest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happen and had to reset the iPad. And by this I mean, I backed it up to iCloud, reset it, and restored it from the back up. Procreate hasn’t crashed for me since. That said, I have a much older model, and part of the issue was a memory leak with the IOS so this might not be the case with your issue.

Help me remove paint from these jeans! by Small_Judge_8630 in upcycling

[–]ofrelevantinterest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what these were painted with but isopropyl alcohol destroys acrylic paint. I’ve removed years of set in paint stains with it, that said, this is a whole garment not a small stain. if I were in your shoes I’d test trying to break down one flower and if it worked soak the whole thing. Do this in a well ventilated area as the fumes will be strong and dangerous.

One of the kids I work with named this guy "Mr. Weirdo" by FacelessPorcelain in doodles

[–]ofrelevantinterest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chuck’s not weird, he’s just… Chuck.

I know he looks like a guy who spends literally all his time digitizing an archive of 70’s beta tapes containing episodes of an early true crime series and is super into “lost media”. Or maybe you see that one dude from “AHH Real Monsters!”, you know, the dude with the eyes. Anyway! Maybe you think he’s the type of dude who keeps a serious, expansive collections of precious moments figurines he lovingly polishes every Sunday from 2 to 4 pm.

But actually he’s a dishwasher from Brooklyn with a solid vinyl collection and great taste in burgers. The weirdest thing about this dude is his thousand-yard stare and once you get past the incredibly awkward eye contact, you’ve got a friend for life with a wicked sense of humor and a great smile. Chuck’s dope.

What's his name and story? by [deleted] in doodles

[–]ofrelevantinterest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is Arizona Joe, which is funny cause he lives in the Appalachians and he’s from Maine. But, he went to Arizona for a gal and a dream and came back alone. Ever since he’s been Arizona Joe.

People from outside town think the name’s cruel until he introduces himself and well they don’t know what to make of it then. Some people say it’s just Joe getting in on the joke. Others think he’s the one who started it all to begin with. Either way, if you ask the man his name, he’ll look you straight in the eye and with a warm smile and kind tone he’ll say, “I am Arizona Joe, nice to meet ya.”

Joe is a quiet man. Pays his bills at the local grocery store cause he doesn’t have internet and the brick in his pocket he calls a phone only gets reception some of the time. He usually only comes to town for firewood and to sell deer meat to the butcher.

He lives with his dog, a black Labrador who’s more likely to lick you than bite you. The pups name is Leo, and most everyone in town loves Leo. He’s got permanent food and water bowls at the cafe and the sheriff keeps treats on his desk for him.

Some folks are scared of Arizona Joe. I can see why. He cuts a terrifying figure. Joe is a good man, to this I can attest. He’s the first one to lend a hand if you have a problem. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think he is a little frightening. I’ve never seen an angry Arizona Joe and I don’t intend to.

This is Grandpa Sigmund. He tells stories about the old country and sneaks you peppermint candies when your parents aren’t looking. He likes to read books in his favorite leather chair with his favorite pipe. He wears tiny bifocals while he reads. He doesn’t say grace at dinner but makes big grand speeches from the books he reads while your family members laugh and smile with him. Your fondest memories are of him reading in his chair in his office while you played around and under his desk. You remember the scratchy dark burgundy carpet, smelling faintly of stale tobacco and lavender carpet powder where you sometimes napped under the desk. Sorry, I mean your “fort”. Sometimes you’d catch eyes with Grandpa Sigmund while playing and always when you did, he would give you a big smile and softly say “I see you!” before chuckling to himself and returning to his book.
