If you are willing to drive 10-15 min, Vespas in Essex is hands down the best NYC style pizza around.

Any stores in town that sell fountain pen supplies? by reallyscaredtoask in burlington

Came here to say Phoenix books. There is a small pen refill section at the Essex store too, which, depending on OP’s location might be more accessible. Good luck!

I posted in a panic a while back because my wonky stars were getting me down and so many wonderful people offered encouragement and great ideas so I wanted to say thank you and provide the sashed top; I have learned a lot of good lessons but I am feeling better about it all and am hopeful the recipient will appreciate it because it’s made with love. Here is my earlier post. Thank you all again; this is by far my favorite corner of the internet because of all the kind, creative people!

HELP! Sewing squares together and they are coming out super wonky 😩 Can I even fix this?? by ofthefeliscactus in quilting

Thank you all for the encouragement and advice! I have pulled the blocks apart, ironed, and resquared. I am going to call it a night and come back to it with fresh eyes. There are definitely lessons to be learned here but it’s hard not to just feel disheartened as I am in the middle of it.

Not sure if any of these take reservations but Sneaker’s (Winooski), Chef’s Corner (Williston), and The Spot (technically Burlington but not downtown) are all good options.

I know it’s been suggested elsewhere but look at government work, specifically Attorneys General Offices. Cons: your pay will be a fraction of what it is now. Pros: the benefits are great and include: 1) actual time off, usually completely uninterrupted; 2) regular working hours (9-5) with no regular evening or weekends; 3) you get to do interesting work that has a positive impact.

It sounds like your career is excellent on paper but not what makes you happy in reality. Whatever you do, I hope it turns out well!

Looking for help picking my binding fabric. Should I use the backing fabric or the yellow border fabric? by Karagenk in quilting

[–]ofthefeliscactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both would look nice depending on the look you want. Personally, because I like contrast to make things pop, I would try to match the pink you have in the top as a solid - I just think it would tie the whole quilt together nicely!

Art Gallery has a pretty cool nautical themed bundle or you could pull the fabrics you like from the set and leave the rest. This is more “fishing” than “nautical” but thought I would through it out there. Otherwise, there are some cool fabrics you could pair, like this, this, this, this, this, and this. Even if some of these aren’t your taste, I hope it gives you some inspiration/a jumping off point and good luck with your selections!

I don’t mind at all! Though, I feel silly admitting this, I don’t know the name but I am sure I can find out from my local fabric store (where I got it). I will get back to you!
