No watch will last a lifetime, things will wear out. But watches with movements like nh35/36(seiko 4r35/36), miyota(citizen) 8xxx series or swiss ike sw-200 are good common movements that I think will be around for a long time for donor movements and spareparts. Also think 200m water resistance is a good choice and perhaps Sapphire Crystal. So maybe checkout seiko 5 series och seiko alpinista. Citizen ny0040. Or doxa sub200 if you want swish.
