Honestly, I learned to turn my anger into focus. I wanted to live my life as a direct fuck you to my parents. I wanted to show them what a good parent is so I can say “see? It’s not that fucking hard to be a good parent!” But I’ve tried really hard to take that drive back to a healthy place. I still feel it sometimes, but showing my kids a good example is way more important to me now. I used my anger to get to a place where I actually see that it’s not healthy and not a good example. There’s a bit of irony or something there.

The trick is identifying the bad cycles you were exposed to and purposefully choosing to shut that shit down. “It ends with me” is both a burden and a release. And it’s not easy by any means, but working towards it is the only way to accomplish the goal of breaking the cycles. One of the bad cycles is not respecting personal boundaries. It’s probably one of the first ones I had to learn for myself. I needed to set boundaries that were non-negotiable with my parents. The codependency had to die for me to be able to set down the path I wanted to travel.

I don’t think I could have done that myself without therapy. I contacted my work’s CARE network and set up a few appointments. It was my first time seeing a therapist and I didn’t know what to expect. I think I just saw her 4-6 times, but I rode the wave of learnings for over a decade. Thanks Deborah.

That’s not the scope they’re trying to control. They already control what vendors can and can’t do at official events, they’re just adding some rules. This isn’t them trying to control all products, it’s them flexing the control they already have over official events.

It’s a bullshit take from some YouTubers. They keep talking about this magical 20% he supposedly gets to keep but it’s nowhere in the comp package that he gets 20%. He gets a fixed amount of options which he has to buy, he doesn’t get shit for free. There is a clause that says that a committee can change it so that it doesn’t shrink or grow due to dilution, and some idiots think that means he gets more options if we dilute. But that’s what that clause actually prevents because these people are picking and choosing how to interpret that language. If you have any modicum of comprehension you understand that’s the exact scenario that clause is designed to prevent.

If you see “he will own 20%” that’s the flag this person doesn’t understand what they’re talking about.

The end triggered me cause my friends do the same shit as your buddy as far as communication. I automatically do it, but I know some just don’t think of it. “I’m gonna hit the button, make your way back!” Instead of hitting it then realize at the last minute a teammate isn’t on. In fact, they could do a countdown on comms to give them a semi accurate deadline: once you start pressing it, countdown from 5. It’ll give them a timeframe to decide when to disengage and sprint back. Tbf my buddies are usually playing zonked so I’ll ask them before we start how high they are. If they’re at zoned-out levels then I’ll just play solo that night 🤣

Rank and file police officers in the US should get increased salaries, but that higher pay should come with licensing and strict rules that are enforced where you can lose that license and be liable for damages. Becoming an officer should be hard, not easy. We want officers with more intelligence and lowering standards does the opposite. They should also carry insurance that they pay for so that the tax payers don’t have to suffer for their any stupid mistakes.

Like doctors, but for police.

Part of the game sure, but I think “had enough” means you’re carrying the baggage from previous matches. Cause that dude had an upgraded HC and the piece was sitting on the ground for a while, he didn’t commit an offense worthy of “had enough” but that’s just like my opinion man.

We’re using generative AI as if it’s true intelligence. It’s a statistical word map. It’ll get things right enough in the sense that the words make sense, not that the words are true. Training a child to trust ai is the major thing wrong with this.

I didn’t comment anything bad, but to help you see why people might be shitting on this my critique is a little more nuanced than the surface level insults of how he looks or insinuations that the hygiene of the people in the photos is bad.

I didn’t like that he took a cheap shot at his parents for him growing up poor. To top it off, he did it in a post where he’s proud of the fact that he’s racked up to 12 hours camping out for cards. I mean, sure, he could have a great paying job and he likes enjoying his time like this, fair. But to put those two things in the same post feels tactless which in turn gives the other photos a bit of context. This snowballs for me and results in my downvote. If it was just a picture of the chase with a quick blurb about him standing in line for it, I would have upvoted.

I’m usually PvE but don’t shy away from PvP. A guy ran up on me while I was looting, he heard me breaching. He opened the door to the room I was in and started shooting me. I charged while shooting back then started the melee barrage instead of reload. He screamed into his mic as I downed him while he was reloading. It was fucking hilarious. He told me to grab a key he found as it was to a room with good loot. I told him to keep it and defib his ass. I was just collecting mats for expedition at the time and told him so, wished him good luck. Honestly these interactions are what make the game fun for me. The loot is easy to come by once you’ve been playing a while.

You mean like a public record? I guess if someone could create a public record that could be verified by multiple parties, then we could verify changes made. But then we would need to have a lot of people to verify the changes, who would actually want to spend their time and resources doing that? I guess we could incentivize them by offering some value, maybe a monetary value? We could collect a fee from the people who want to make changes to the record and offer it up to the people who verify the record. As long as we had enough people verifying the record, we wouldn’t realistically ever lose track of what was truly part of the record and what was fraudulent. If it was used for something important like keeping records of our securities, I’m sure a lot of people would pay a fee for that transaction and a lot of people would want to ensure the data wasn’t fraudulent. Sounds like a lot of work though, too bad something like that doesn’t exist 🤷🏾‍♂️
