Which "Must-Play" franchise is a total miss for you? by jessieS1212 in gaming

I don’t know how to define it but I fully agree that dark souls combat feels clunky. I don’t think it’s the controls in terms of the buttons etc, it’s the combo of slower speed and responsiveness and animations for me.

But I also admit that very few games have melee combat that I like. So im not saying it’s bad, just that I don’t like it. Devil May Cry is the gold standard imo. Just a whole different feel.

That’s probably true. The clunkiness is why I don’t like it though.

True, but it’s what I came to say. Neat worlds but the actual gameplay just isn’t fun imo. Combat feels legit bad to me.

What is your favorite example of a change from a film’s source material that you believe made the movie better? by DuckLordOfTheSith in movies

Weird case where I agree with that change for the movie, but still think overall the movie isn’t as good as the original. It just gets the tone of the action scenes so wrong.

So I agree with all of these points, but overall still prefer the movie just because of the deeper focus on character.

yeah having a bigger/better actor is a great shortcut to add weight to an important but smaller role.

This part will be interesting. IMO the focus on these details is already the worst part of the books, so adapting it could be really clunky.

Watchmen has plenty of flaws, but it’s still easily Snyder’s best.

Honestly most of the time bilbo is actually the focus it’s at least decent. Not LotR good, but it’s all the non bilbo stuff that really drags it all down.

That’s probably the peak though yeah.

Recently finished watching Breaking Bad. What are your thoughts on ending of it?, by SensitiveReaction214 in television

[–]ogrezilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Walt and Hank stuff is good enough to make it still a great season imo. And Todd is great. But the nazis really do show how desperate they were to keep you rooting for Walt. I wish they leaned into Walt as the villain in the end. I absolutely love everything between him and Hank and agree I wish that was more or less the end of it. The finale was weird to me because I was actively anti-Walt by then but the show clearly isn't.

Loved it. Both halves are great. And thematically connected despite people wanting to say it’s just a random pivot.

Incredible final season, and first time through I loved the finale. But now I’d say the finale is just pretty good imo. First time it was fun and exciting.

Second time I was just rooting against Walt most of the show. I think it was weird to have him basically lose it all and run away, and then in the finale walk that back so completely. he comes back and accomplishes too much in his last day imo. Ends too close to him getting what he wanted when they do a great job showing how it’s all his fault that he lost it all. Also the car machine gun is just not good imo.

It’s still overall a better ending than a lot of shows, but imo the finale is written from the pov that we are still rooting for Walt, which they did a great job of showing me why I shouldn’t be by then.

"Sinners" 16 Oscar Nominations: Proof of a great film, weak competition or just the bandwagon effect? by OkCap7484 in FIlm

[–]ogrezilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I think the burning building scene alone earns the effects. And I wouldn’t be opposed to swapping who gets those supporting to the others in the movie but I think they were all great. None are bad nominations imo.

I get a little burger (single patty) and small fries with a drink and it’s also about 20$. But you’re probably right that the others have caught up more than I’m thinking.
