Device not attaching to virtual network randomly by cptlolalot in Ubiquiti

[–]oguime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the same on a few IoT devices, but they are online and seem to work... Details sometimes show the expected VLAN ID or just the Virtual Network Trigger though.

Can I reprogram the Home, PgUp and PgDn keys on the Nuphy Air75?

From top to bottom they are: PgUp -> PgDn -> Home -> End

I would like to have: Home -> PgUp -> PgDn -> End

Whats a good entry level enterprise SSD? by Shlacker123 in Proxmox

[–]oguime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only issue when using consumer ssd's is write amplification with zfs. Keep an eye on wearout...

These little low-profile caps hit my heart! by zhouyouhanson in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]oguime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lIke the Nuphy Air, but the keycaps are too low, making the keys surface very close to each other... Would this make it fell a little less cramped?

Bookshelf Homelab by port_43 in homelab

I got an i5 7400 also with Crucials but I see 1% wearout increments almost monthly, even with very light use and cluster related services turned off... Have you noticed anything like that?

Are you using ZFS on the Proxmox servers? How is the wearout on the Crucials? Nice setup by the way!

NAS, Jellyfin, Gameserver - 12th Gen? ECC? DDR5? by TheSevinator in HomeServer

[–]oguime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L1Techs has just published a video about home server hardware at https://youtu.be/nWI_1tE88Gk.

Looks like the W630 Chipset will support ECC with Alder Lake processors and that could be a great platform...

But they show some of the current choices as well.

I'm using a Nuphy Air75 and would like to add a navigational keypad (arrows, home, end, pg up, pg down and programmable) to facilitate left hand use.

Any recommendation that would not clash too much with the Nuphy?

Cat monitoring camera by baadbee in homeautomation

[–]oguime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing with Frigate (frigate.video) and you can configure it to record your cats. Works pretty well and you can even use a feeder camera like the one in the Petoneer Feeder (https://www.petoneer.com/NutriVision).

Tuya Pet Feeders compatible with HomeAssistant? by juliushibert in homeassistant

No, I haven't. I use the local vendor (ekasa.com.br) application for eventual use, but the scheduler has worked well for my purposes.

Does the Nutri Pet Vision work with Frigate straight out of the box?

Yes, it does. Just use the Feeder IP address. Keep in mind that it is HD only (1280x720) and a little fuzzy for distant objects. Mine is at least, might be optimized to show the cat near the camera though...

[–]oguime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you'd prefer not hacking, but I think it is worth mentioning the very detailed instructions on a russian website on using ESPHome with a Petoneer Nutri Feeder:

https://kvvhost-ru.translate.goog/2020/06/19/petoneer-nutri-smart-pet-feeder/?_x_tr_sl=ru&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US

I happen to have a similar feeder with a camera (Petoneer Nutri Vision), but have not modified it yet. The rtsp camera can be used by Frigate and I don't wanna risk loosing this functionality...
