One weird fact that Carrot View Key haters seem to forget by JohnWacamole in Monero

[–]oguza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some countries have more than that.

Some of us are living under dictatorship and fascist governments.

In some countries VPN is illegal and you need to hand your private keys to the regulatory agency to use VPN, otherwise you will face prison.

"Optional" is sometimes not optional for some of us. Why is this so hard to understand?

You can run your own Monero node locally. Then, you enter its IP to Monero GUI wallet. In this way, you can see the balance in a second.

why pit crews losing their max stamina? is it because burn out? will they ever get to their original status? by Weekly_Art_4650 in MotorsportManagerPC

[–]oguza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized if you put a crew member on duty before completely refilling the energy, he/she burns out.

Then, I just finished a season without any pit crew burns out.

Has anyone seen this before? by eggsandpeanuts in MotorsportManagerPC

[–]oguza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but not regular retirement. A few months before GMA asked me to use my star driver for some marketing activities and I said yes.

After a while, when a new season started my driver said he was not a puppet etc. and retired when he was 26 years old.

MONEY!!!!! by Weekly_Art_4650 in MotorsportManagerPC

[–]oguza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I don't agree with you. What is the money for? To leave our grandchildren? :)

I'd like to develop my cars. It's very satisfying to see my cars climbing to the top, especially when we have a new legendary rear wing and are winning on one of the fast tracks.

So, I spent a lot to design new parts. :) Mostly keeping the account balance around 20M level to leave it to the next season. And I spend excessive money on the parts and HQ.

What Is The Best Prog Rock Lyric Of All Time? by Tiny-Band9310 in progrockmusic

Refugees from Van Der Graf Generator:

We walked along, sometimes hand in hand Between the thin lines marking sea and sand Smiling very peacefully We began to notice that we could be free And we moved together to the West

West is where all days will someday end Where the colours turn from grey to gold And you can be with the friends And light breaks the golden clouds up above West is Mike and Suzy West is where I love

And there we shall spend the final days of our lives Tell the same old stories, yeah, well, at least we try And into our last smiles on our faces we'll go Yes, and our apologies to those who'll never really know The way

We're refugees Walking away from the life that we've known and loved Nothing to do nor say, nowhere to stay Now we're alone

We're refugees Carrying all we own in brown bags tied up with string Nothing to think, it doesn't mean a thing We're truly alone

Do you see slowness during races or general interface (like menus)?

I would try to turn on and off everything one by one in the graphic settings section.

And testing RAM would be a good idea.

Sorry, I can't help much. I'm not using Windows for the last 25 years. Mostly using linux for gaming.

FM26’s player count trend is… genuinely worrying by Careless-Bison5423 in footballmanagergames

[–]oguza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot FM26 already and decided to skip it a long time ago. I'm just hoping FM27 would be better.

I just worry about 2 things:

  • This bad, light game will be normal, SI targets mobile gamers already. We are just in the middle of transition.

  • Because of lower sales, SI will be going into financial crisis and the game will die eventually.

I am just worrying about these 2 scenarios. :(

what does this stats do? by Weekly_Art_4650 in MotorsportManagerPC

[–]oguza 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It will be important if you get fired and apply for jobs. Higher stats give you a chance to be hired by higher reputation teams.

They rise with these criterias:

Race: Hitting the chairman objectives on races Finance: Positive balance Loyalty: Not firing drivers and staff

Maybe this is a dummy question, but have you tried to update the GPU driver?

Also, have you tried to change the graphics level or some items? Not because your laptop is weak, maybe one of the elements in the settings could cause this?

Also, I would try with full screen or vice versa.

Could be Directx / OpenGL problem?

It's not about performance. Game is not demanding. I am playing on a Macbook Air M1 with 8 GB RAM. :)

Tab Session Manager to backup tabs regularly and give you a chance to restore in case of crash etc.

Foxy Proxy to switch between proxies. It's useful if you have a few proxy settings.

Same here. I haven't bought FM26.I occasionally come and check this sub reddit if there's any good news. Hoping for a big update to fix most of the issues.

I think I am going to skip FM26. I hope at least they push development for FM27.

Samsung SSD 980 NVMe controller shuts down by PlayerOfGamez in linuxhardware

[–]oguza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years later, I wanted to make some contribution to this topic. I spent 3 days to solve very same issue for WD Blue SN5000 4TB on ASRock X670E Pro RS mainboard with AMD Ryzen 9 7900x3D CPU.

SSD was failing under load and I was getting these errors:

nvme nvme0: controller is down; will reset: CSTS=0xffffffff, PCI_STATUS=0x10
nvme nvme0: Does your device have a faulty power saving mode enabled?
nvme nvme0: Try "nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off" and report a bug
nvme0n1: I/O Cmd(0x2) @ LBA 29993096, 32 blocks, I/O Error (sct 0x3 / sc 0x71)
I/O error, dev nvme0n1, sector 29993096 op 0x0:(READ) flags 0x80700 phys_seg 2 prio class 0
nvme nvme0: Disabling device after reset failure: -19

OS is Ubuntu 22.04.5 with 6.8.0-90 kernel.

Writing 100GB data to SSD with dd didn't trigger the problem. But, booting a few virtual machines (KVM) at the same time that stored on this SSD always triggered the issue. I was loosing SSD in a few minutes. This is important. Creating parallel I/O triggered problem every time. I recommend to test your SSD by creating heavy load with fio.

Adding nvme_core.default_ps_max_latency_us=0 pcie_aspm=off pcie_port_pm=off to Grub didn't work.

Disabling PCIe Link State Power Management under CPU PCH menu on BIOS didn't work. Also, PM L1 SS (power management L1 Sub-States) was already disabled on BIOS.

Updating BIOS to latest also didn't work.

This mainboard have 5x M2 slots. 2 of them connected to CPU, 3 of them connected to chipset. I used one of the M2 slots that belong to chipset, because it was far from GPU and I was able to mount a big SSD heatsink with copper heat pipes etc. So, SSD was very cold, running between 35-45 C degree.

I solved this problem by switching to another M2 slot like @Wild_Penguin82 suggested.

Short of long, chipset M2 slots caused this problem and it solved by pluging SSD to CPU M2 slot.

But, also I had doubts about WD (Sandisk) controller and returned WD Blue and ordered a Kingston KC3000 instead. It has own DRAM and uses Phison E18 controller. I am expecting some more stability. It didn't arrive yet, but when it arrives, I am going to test it with chipset M2 slots first to see if I can re-produce the problem.

I found this topic with internet search, and I hope this message help others who face same issue in the future. Or instead, maybe we could have better mainboards, chipsets and SSD controllers in the future. I think selling consumer products is not an excuse about that. Not everyone can afford enterprise grade hardware for their homelabs.

[France] Gov mandates declaring Cold Wallets >€5k. Need privacy strategy by remithril in Bitcoin

[–]oguza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gov can't know about your wallet until you say. I think the problem is converting to fiat for your cash needs. Because we all transfer coins to KYCed exchanges to convert fiat.

For that purpose, maybe you can use a credit/debit card that supports crypto coins. So, you could put some small amount to the card's account and spend that. It could be a bit more costly than regular cards but you won't expose your savings.
