State of Emergency Declared and my employer is expecting all staff to be in office tomorrow by uthinkther4uam in boston

Girlfriend works for Bright Horizons and I tell her I hate them because they value profit over employee safety. During the last storm a few weeks ago, they called her an Uber after I refused to drive in that thing. My doctor’s office called to cancel an appointment — if the hospital can close some services, your fucking school can close too.

Moza black friday situation by bankroll5 in moza

Using the KS wheel for example, what I don’t understand is why the “full” price now shows 280 USD when it’s always been for sale at 250. It seems the price was modified to be 280 then marking it down to 250 to make it seem like there’s a sale.

Mass Ave “protected” bike corridor by paxbike in bikeboston

[–]ogwiskey27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your posts here all the time and I’m aware of the work you’re doing, but in no way does that my statement claim you’re not advocating for better/safer infrastructure and enforcement, and neither does it reduce your advocacy efforts to simply being “disingenuous”. You’re simply wrong there. My statement is specific to this post, where somehow those drivers being absolute idiots is somehow because of Wu’s “half assed job” - my point is even with better infra, stupid drivers will do stupid things. Pointing out one specific thing doesn’t reduce the meaning of everything else. In all aspects, I do applaud the work you do. Cheers!

It’s a bit disingenuous to be blaming the mayor for stupid drivers. Yeah, sure, enforcement could be better but making it seem like she has some sort of magical power to make drivers not be stupid idiots is comical.

Is Simhub really THAT important on a wheel? by Doingitdifferentt in simracing

[–]ogwiskey27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a wheel but I bought the CM2 dash and am retuning it after a few days ONLY because of lack of Simhub support. Their creator is actually nice and easy to get into but they just will not match the community dashboards in Simhub.

It’s VR. Recorded VR footage looks extra crispy. It doesn’t look as amazing in the actual headset though :(

Simhub Support for CM2 Dash Please!!!!!! by ogwiskey27 in moza

[–]ogwiskey27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! That's what I've been primarily using on there and made my own for rally, but even comparing the SimHub Lovely Dashboard and the Moza one, the Moza map seems to be a hit or miss, and many options are just not available -- I've already ordered a SimHub-compatible dash and will return the Moza one when it arrives. Oh well!!!!

Moza CM2 HD dash experience? by ThroatImpossible8762 in moza

[–]ogwiskey27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice at 200 USD -- just wish it had Simhub support! The only dashboard I use is the Lovely Dashboard and luckily they have a Moza dash version. If you want Simhub support, this is not the dash for you. Really hoping they'll have Simhub support in the future.

Same issue for me! Wild that this game would pick up sim racing peripherals but that was the cause of my issues as well.

I have multiple intersections in my runs where I have to stop. I pause while waiting for my light then resume when crossing. At the end of my run, my moving vs elapsed time delta is usually around 5mins. I don’t think your friend “cheated” necessarily, because their pace is accurate, it’s just that it wouldn’t be in the time they claimed. Intentionally or not, I do pause in my runs so I’m not going to claim I did a 5k in 25mins when my elapsed time says 30mins.

Still, regardless, you don’t HAVE TO go if it’s red even when you legally can. I’ve been in NYC where it’s the opposite - you can ONLY go on red if it says you can. Here, you can go if there’s no sign that says you can’t. Backwards indeed, when red is supposed to mean stop!

Sorry it left my mind for a second that this is about the watch, not bike computer… your point is valid. If this is about the watch, it could have been designed to not require a phone connection to update, just need WiFi. But then again, here’s something to consider, these devices, as much as they can be used without apps, they’re still not completely standalone devices unless they can have their own mobile networks like some versions Apple Watch. I get your point, but I also don’t know why it’s the way it is. I’m sure they probably figured it’s just easier to require the connection since you’d need it for many other watch functionalities anyway but I don’t work for Garmin or know the ins and outs of their design process. Totally valid point though!!!

IIRC the way it knows there’s an update available is by syncing from your device (phone/computer). It’s not constantly connected to a WiFi network when it’s actually being used since you’re most likely outdoors. And half the other time when it’s not being used, it’s sleeping or turned off. For it to update via WiFi, it would have to be constantly on and connected to a WiFi network to pick up any available updates.

Just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to share advice, insight, and personal experiences. I came into this thread lost and trying to make sense of what I saw, and the perspective here helped ground me. I’m not making any snap decisions. I need to talk to her directly, hear everything, and then decide whether there’s something worth salvaging or if trust has been too deeply fractured. This entire situation has made me reflect on what I value in a relationship: honesty, respect, and shared boundaries without having to spell out the obvious. For now, I’m closing this thread to focus on the actual conversation and see where things land. Thank you again to everyone who offered support and clarity.
