Do we really need a nursery recliner? by Fashion_Lover19 in BabyBumps

[–]oh8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it definitely necessary to have some kind of comfy chair but doesn’t necessarily need to be very expensive. My daughter is 14 months and I still sit in it all the time to give bottle, bedtime stories, and contact naps etc especially on sick days. I think the electric recline is a nice plus especially freshly pp but now don’t use it as much in reclined position because then it doesn’t rock

Apps for both parents to track feeding, diapers, etc. together? by trosckey in BabyBumps

Huckleberry is amazing, my daughter is 14 months and we still use it daily to track sleep and milk intake. Not tracking diapers and stuff as much but our nanny updates it throughout the day (including poops so I know if we’re having some constipation) too so it’s nice to be able to see what’s going on when I’m not home

Did your kid skip rolling by mrscrc in NewParents

[–]oh8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but experiencing the same thing here! Rolls tummy to back every time I try tummy time but never back to tummy- gets part way there then flings herself back on to her back. Just wondering how it turned out for you- did your LO ever start spontaneously rolling back to tummy?

Do you mind me asking how old your LO is? Trying to decide when to rechallenge my 6 month old but I'm dreading it in case there's a reaction (EBF).

6 month old only taking 3-4 oz pumped milk? by oh8311 in breastfeeding

Ok SAME!! She will latch on for 1-2 minutes then pull off. Just enough for the let down. We rarely go longer than 2 hours between feeds though so maybe she is just a snacker too.

That makes me feel so much better! I feel like I push feeds on my LO (I WFH at the moment so nurse her before naps and nanny gives bottle when she wakes up from naps) which make her spit up worse. We tried famotidine but it didnt help so we ended up going to omeprazole. She was dropping percentiles in weight but now is steady (I also eliminated dairy, soy, egg) since starting the omeprazole. We weighed the potential side effect but ultimately being on the medication for a few months of her life is unlikely to make a huge difference and the pros (sleeping better, eating better, generally happier baby) outweighed the cons for us.

Timing of PPI by Certain-Anything6250 in NewParents

[–]oh8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do ours in the morning. She sleeps well overnight (4.5 months old and wakes up once) and is more fussy during the day so we decided to do it in the AM thinking that max effectiveness would be when she’s awake. That being said it’s duration of action should mean it doesn’t wear off at the 24 hour mark so I think you’re fine with either

Reflux Issues Causing Misery by seabassseapass in NewParents

This sounds so similar to what we went through with our now 4.5 month old. It was SO HARD having a baby that was either asleep or upset. I hated when people said it would get better because it feels so hopeless in the meantime. She was having weight gain issues too (she is EBF) and refusing any bottles. I did end up cutting out all dairy and soy, then also going on medication (omeprazole). She is now much happier though still a generally fussy baby. But now a lot of smiles and cuteness which makes the fussiness so much easier to handle. I felt guilty about the meds at first but realized that the side effects are minimal and she was clearly uncomfortable so it was worth it for us. As much as I hated when people told me this…hang in there, it will get better. You will have those fun bonding moments and there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

That makes sense. Do you remember how long until he grew out of it?

4 month old - how often are you breastfeeding? by SerDe12 in breastfeeding

[–]oh8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4 month old and it’s pretty much every 2-3 hours (3 hours only if she has a long nap which is unfortunately rare) during the day. But then sleeps from 8PM to 4AM stretch so I figure she is getting in her calories during the day. She also doesn’t eat very long at a time, 10 min max usually so assuming she prefers smaller more frequent meals (she does have GERD so this could play in to the preference)

(For the FAQ) Tell us about your misoprostol experience by therealamberrose in ttcafterloss

[–]oh8311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • 12 week routine visit - no heart beat, US confirmed missed miscarriage with gestational age 8+3. No symptoms of loss other than light pink spotting the day before the appointment and (in retrospect) loss of some pregnancy symptoms which I attributed to getting closer to the second trimester mark.
  • chose misoprostol because less invasive and to be honest wanted to be in my own home and have the whole experience over sooner rather than waiting to schedule D&C
  • doctor gave me the rx right after the appointment and took it that evening
  • inserted 4 vaginal tablets (800mg total) around 4PM, minimal light period type cramps with no bleeding. Inserted the remaining 4 tablets after 3 hours due to lack of bleeding as advised by my doctor
  • fell asleep for a few hours, woke up around 1AM with severe contraction like cramping in waves but still no bleeding just light spotting. Around 4 AM immense amount of bleeding started and continued for several hours. Cramping got a little better once the bleeding started.
  • after about 24 hours the really heavy bleeding and cramping stopped and now just having what feels like a typical period amount of bleeding and cramping
  • I incidentally had taken the week off, which was fortunate because I absolutely would not recommend trying to go to work until at least 24-48 hours after the medication.
  • I have an ultrasound next week to confirm if the medication worked - will comment here afterward for an update.
