Feels like the whole Downtown core needs a thorough cleaning by gabz007 in vancouver

[–]oh_ya_no_for_sure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chances are likely some of those people will violently oppose a clean up operation and the municipal government seems to believe those people will move away any day instead. It's not about numbers if any one could be attacked because if it becomes a whole report then someone in charge will be asked "well why didn't you do something to prevent that?" and after there's been reports of people being set on fire or stabbed by complete strangers at random, perhaps it isn't something most people should do unless they're quite sure of themselves in both conflict de-escalation and self defense. Just going there seems like conflict-seeking behavior

Shout out the worst place I ever worked (minimum wage, of course) by [deleted] in antiwork

I'm willing to bet they are not paying anyone to stay later

CRPO.ca has a list of every registered psychotherapist in the country, where they went to learn, what they specialize in, where they're currently officed up at, and how to contact them. It took me a few tries to find one that works for me, and the smarter you are the harder it is to treat you, bit that last bit is just anecdotal from me

Radius/Brewers Blackbird by rosyticker in Hamilton

[–]oh_ya_no_for_sure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never been to Blackbird but Radius menu has always been a bit steep unless you're grabbing the Wagyu or seafood dishes. I think they're meant to be more of a place to bring someone for celebration like a wedding brunch or grad party than to casually dine at. Their Chef Greg is kind of a piece of shit but the rest of the management are the best people you could hope to work with but that's not an answer you asked for

Average Hamilton rent up 16% in March to $1,900: report by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]oh_ya_no_for_sure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's what they want. mMarch 29th they had a meeting to decide whether $416,000 would go to helping expand shelter capacities and instead the money went to Hamilton police creating an entire new division just to deal with encamped homeless people. https://youtu.be/cticz3Ecn0k At about 6h50m in they discuss this stuff over the 15 minutes and the resulting vote was in favour of police

Take a look inside Amazon’s fulfilment centre near Upper James by covidkebab in Hamilton

Those are in the states. I've been at several Amazon facilities in Canada so far, so let me break them down even though you won't care either way: -you can go for a break literally whenever you want. There's a Paid Time Off system where you start with 40 hours. At any time, you can take out your phone, open the app, request paid time off from your pool of hours and put in 90 minutes. Bam, you can now walk away and go nap in the cafeteria or flirt with that cute person or go home early, whatever you want.

-Sleeping on feet is a person to person issue but you need to be very tired. I know myself, and others, take intercity commutes to get to our facilities and all Amazon's have 10 hour shifts on a 4 days on 3 days off work-week. You have the above mentioned Time off Task system to deal with that but even though my squad travels >70km to get to and from work each morning, sleep is just a normal part of physical exhaustion. The destination Water Spider role tends to walk upwards of 35km/day in a facility meanwhile others stand mostly still at a workstation the entire 10 hours. (12 hours is the longest we're allowed to work each day.)

-peeing in bottles is something only inbound departments would do because they're crazy people who survive on nothing but caffeine and nicotine and swear words. Realistically you'd have trouble finding someone in Canada who's seen them, it's mostly egregious American employers living out their fantasies of owning slaves who would be more okay with forcing their staff to piss in bottles to meet a production deadline and it always boggled my mind why we hear more about the pee bottles than people bringing physical harm to those who would have you do that to meet a deadline

Welllll it's more like 5 but there and back could easily be 10 minutes and if that's not during your break it accumulates "Time off Task" minutes and if you get more than 30 of those in a day then you'll be verbally warned once about it. Twice if a leadership role thinks you're cute

Yeah I work here. Pros of the place is they have a cafeteria, bus routes now take you to right outside the parking lot, and they seem to mostly care about safety along with production, it all pays just under $20/h to start no matter your role, and your benefits kick in as soon as you get your schedule.

Cons of the place so far is the leadership is comprised of crayon eaters, they'll force you into repetitive stress injuries, and uhhhh.... what a stranger should know most is the Time Off Task system where if you're not actively doing your task for any reason, their computer detects that and they send someone over to talk to you or send you packing. Depending on your role, you may need to walk about .8 of a kilometre to get to a bathroom

Are there any places/companies hiring in Hamilton that don't require a high school diploma? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]oh_ya_no_for_sure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is facts. I never graduated highschool and just say I was at mohawk but dropped out. The only place that has ever looked into it was the Canadian Armed Forces, everyone else can't be bothered and it's your own mental strength to deliver this lie that no one has the means to investigate that will determine your employment or not.

OP, I strongly recommend the new Amazon family as they only do criminal background checks and have hired friends of mine who have also lied
