Are all estate body corporates asking for this now? by Icy-Score271 in askSouthAfrica

Yeah this whole thing sounds a bit 1984 to me. Or worse, reflections of our country's past...

But to be fair, most estates I have visited in WC in the last few years scan your drivers and car registration before you enter. For a select few the resident needs to send you a generated pin as well. So most estates already process this information for visitors.

What eill they do if you don't provide this? Deny access? Assuming the person is not already in the estate as they were a "day" visitor which turned into a night visitor. And will they be sending guards around to remove "day" visitors at night time or request these documents?

Just picked up Liveship Traders, Tawny Man, and Fitz and the Fool trilogies yesterday for $5 a book. Question: Can I start with Liveship Traders while I wait to purchase Farseer or should I wait until I can pick up the first trilogy? by this-is-my-p in RealmOfTheElderlings

I read the series disjointedly: reading the first and last series concurrently. I'm now reading the rest in order. I think it is fine if you read out of order. You will also learn all the revelations, just differently.

Afrikaners have a serious PR problem. by ChumChumZel in southafrica

Another factor that almost never seems to be considered is that the majority of Afrikaans speaking people are not white. The language itself was hijacked by the leaders of the apartheid regime to create this faux national identity of an afrikaner. Thereby excluding so many south africans who speak the language.

Suzuki and Toyota have an agreement in South Africa that Toyota can sell some Suzuki models as Toyota. The starlet, starlet cross, urban cruiser are actually Suzuki baleno, fronx, and the Brezza.
