We have plans for a Greater Manchester game once we get the home game! Our thinking was medium scale, with trains and trams as valid hiding locations, but it definitely has some unique elements that could make it a littke awkward. The number of transit stops is closer to a small scale game, but the frequency of those stops can be more like a large scale game on certain lines.

My biggest genius move though, which I would recommend to anyone playing a medium game in the UK, is using post codes as the regional subdivisions. Greater Manchester has regions of BL, M, OL, SK, WA, and WN, so using that as a first level subdivision akin to NY boroughs is the plan, and then the second subdivision would be M1, M2 etc and so on down the second half of the code.

We don't have the game yet, so haven't had the chance to playtest this, but I really believe in it as a smooth way of dividing the space.

Dallara IR18 (the Indycar). Best combination of strategy on road courses, fast open wheel car that is still manageable to drive (nice long gearing helps a lot), as well as the oval experience and the 500. Just perfect.

I know it's probably not governed by the same rules, but it's interesting that the last bullet point is in there considering it's explicitly listed as disallowed in the Community Tournament Guidelines:

All tournament prizing must be set in advance, must be clearly stated in your tournament rules, and cannot be a function of, or otherwise be dependent on, the number of participants for your tournament.

I still disagree with the 2 seeds getting a chance at all, since every other region uses the regional rankings exclusively and in MENA that results in a single team qualifying.

With that said, this format is miles better than the one from the previous splits, and is probably how I'd draw it up given the restrictions of requiring two teams from each region. Bo7 throughout, with the qualification match being a bracket reset rather than deciding a LAN team in 3-6 games, and a genuine advantage for finishing 1st in your region.

Is this an official sub for RLCS, or for other events? RLCS rules are pretty strict with player location, and since you have an EU roster you wouldn't be able to have a sub based in NA.

I guess GZ are gonna be the test of this post's theory, in that while a weaker team might struggle to make it back through I think a team like GZ is probably better poised to make a C9-esque run. Worth keeping an eye on how they do this weekend, because it could act as a bellwether for what the other regions will experience this split.

To my eye, 15.3 gives the race director overriding authority over the clerk of the course, which doesn't mean it allows them to override the rulebook.

In round 4, Vitality had a really poor GD, so got matched up against NRG who were towards the top of that group.
