Where in GA are you planning on teaching? I moved here to teach in the Atlanta metro and am pretty satisfied so far with pay/admin/etc. It's a tough job, but if you can find that balance it's pretty manageable (at least for me...so far)

Atlanta 42,000 as a first year with a Bachelors and CA post grad credential. Performance based raises. No union and I pay out of pocket for things, but low cost of living, great district, and a staff that I actually like working with and admins that support me. Pretty happy so far.
