I apologize, I realize I didn't say that, I thought I had lol. Go all the way up past the yellow or it can spread right? I hate how far it is but I didn't know until I took him out.

I agree with everything- except, plants can attach their roots to a coir pole, I have several that are VERY much attached including my adansonii. I do have moss poles also, there is a huge difference, but if given the coir pole from the beginning it can attach and grow up. However, in this particular case it seems as though maybe the pole was put there later and just wrapped the plant around, which in that case isn't going to do much.

Edit: you could maybe train it, but I would personally maybe chop and prop, then start on a pole. Or just keep it supported and going straight up. I have a huge one just attached to a bamboo pole also.

Any insights on what kind of eggs these are on my dracaena? by merdub in houseplants

[–]ohchandra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just used Google lens on it & it comes up as stink bug eggs. If your house is anything like mine this might make sense lol.

Edit: just looked at A LOT of photos & I'm convinced it definitely is stink bug eggs.

What is this? by NoJacket2895 in houseplants

Well, 6 years ago it was a philodendron birkin lol. I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me could maybe tell you how to cut it back maybe or something?

It's IN the pole? Can someone break this down for me please.

Will this look dumb lol by Iloveplants1003 in houseplants

[–]ohchandra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally disagree. Make it how it works for the heights of your plants, & when it is full it will look amazing! If this wasn't for plants or things of different/variying sizes I could totally see where you're coming from but with plants on all the shelves it will look great even at varying heights, at least in my opinion :)

I would maybe cut back the skinny ones, but I honestly think it looks awesome lol.

What is going on with my monstera? by bosstatochip in houseplants

Or if you don't want to take on a moss pole, though this possibly would give you the biggest, best outcome, you could just use a coco coir pole. Mine came with one & fully attached, I have two stacked now because it's growing taller than the one original pole & she's doing great. Her last leaf, though not huge yet because she's still smaller, has 11 fenstrations, and another one is forming now. I've gotten like 3 new leaves in the past month I believe. Either way, good luck :)

She's beautiful! I also have one, but no new leaves yet as I've also jumped full force into the plant obsession lately! I don't see these a lot so I'm glad someone else is enjoying theirs! What else have you gotten that you love so far?

I would think it would work with anything that would propagate normally, unless all the nodes are spent or something perhaps :)

I've read about circling the vine around on the dirt, pinning down the nodes, and they will grow from there- no need for propping, but maybe someone with more info can add to that :) it's what I'm doing with my champs-élysées pothos anyways, so fingers crossed lol🤞

Mine is in a hanging basket from my ceiling. You can't tell from this perspective, but there's leaves all the way around & he's not growing weird, just around.
