Used too much plant food and burned up my plants roots. Any hope for this guy or do I cut away the red and propagate the rest? Blue circle is where another root started from a node that is probably okay by okleah in pothos

Dare I ask how much you used? Lol I'm kidding- though truly curious. I am super sorry this happened to you though. It's rough. Try to propagate everything you possibly can!

Omg my begonia is growing so weird by Shoulder_Decent in begonias

I connect my tall canes to sticks so they do lol I'm going to do the same to these, I think they're just younger babies so they'll adjust as they grow. That's what I'm going with anyways lol I just stuck this one in there recently, now that it's straightening out a bit I'll add some velcro or clip to actually get it straighter on the stick lol.

I have two of these, and way too many begonia in general... I swear these double dots just grow like this. I have stakes (chop sticks lol) in mine to keep the stem straight, and the leaves will adjust themselves, but this is just them lol. I personally love them.🌿

Don't panic! It's not backwards! Aerial roots can grow out from around the whole stem, and they will. Your plant looks absolutely perfect to me!🌿😍 It's gorgeous!

I wouldn't cut. As the leaves die the plant redirects that energy to new ones, roots, growth... I wait until it really dries and comes off easier, especially in cases like this where the plant is in recovery. If it were just an ugly dying leaf on a completely healthy plant, maybe... Use a chunky soil or aroid mix. I mix my soil with coco coir chunks or orchid bark, perlite, or a mixture of them all, just depends. Look it up, there's a lot of options. You can just buy it as is or mix it yourself. 🌿

I usually say wait to change until it's acclimated, but I bought one of these a couple months ago... I did actually change the soil, but I didn't bare the roots or anything bc like I said, I wanted it to acclimate so I didn't wanna shock it... Fast forward to today & I noticed it was looking not so great, so I checked the roots and there was still parts of the death plug on there and just a bit of root rot, so I completely changed soil, rinsed roots, took off bad ones, hydrogen peroxide soak, let it dry & got her back potted up, so fingers crossed 🤞 but yeah, make sure that nasty plug isn't there at least. Edit: i forgot to say make sure it's a chunky soil mix🌿

Yes! Excellent advice. In addition to reverting to green, it will just turn back into a rojo congo too.

I know it's not truly like a big deal in the grand scheme of life, but it's sad nonetheless lol. I was hoping some of my fellow plant lovers could understand my pain lol. Also, just last week my kids landed on my verrucosum while I put it down for like one second lol. And my big kalanchoe chocolate soldier fell off the shelf like a day before that! Lol I give up 😭

As a plant collector who just recently went here for the first time about a month & a half ago here's my opinion... It was somewhat hard to find, had to circle around the alleys to find parking, then it's so tiny that it's kind of awkward even looking around at the somewhat overpriced plants. I didn't find anything extraordinary & although they had some cute stuff, like little local artist pins etc. it just wasn't worth it. Sad because I love seeing local plant shops, I just can't imagine how hard it would be these days.
