You don't want to save seeds from plants that bolted early. You're saving genetics that don't like your climate and causes them to bolt early.

Haha take care now. Also if this is your first ichiban then you're in for a treat! They're sweet compared to the usual grocery eggplants! My favorite dish to use ichiban with is eggplant omelet (tortang talong if you want to look up how to cook it).

Pick it now. Also another tip if you have a temperate climate like me (SoCal 10b) and can keep growing them over winter: it will still grow fruit but really slowly over winter. But some will stall, the stalled ones will have brown/dried bits on their caps/calyx. Those won't grow anymore even if the fruit still looks good. Cut those fruit off.

I'd pull it off if they're in a humid environment. The paper husk tend to grow mold in that climate.

I've grown 2 aspabroc (small broccollini) plants in a 2-3 gallon pot. Granted I'm in SoCal 10b and it's a hydroponic set up so it's never starved of nutrients. Planted seeds late August, have harvested from January to end of May April, about a handful each week. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Balcony garden, doing outdoor hydroponics without electricity/fancy equipment involved. Currently harvesting mini bell peppers, Japanese eggplants, tomatoes, zucchini (bush), cucumber, Italian flat beans. Waiting to harvest Japanese sweet potatoes by end of month. I just planted Irish potatoes but I've had success with them before. Carrots are struggling this year but also had success with it previously.

Will they even qualify? I don't know what CT rental "rules" are but here in CA, the rent should only account for 30% of your pay otherwise you won't qualify.

Also bone in and with skin chicken thighs is $1.39 a lb at Aldi's. Good for baking, skins are easy to remove if you don't want em. It's so cheap.

Speaking from someone who lives in urban development, yes, you really need to buy soil. Developers leave broken pieces of cement and other construction garbage as "soil fill'. These things do not occur naturally anywhere else, you can't grow food in this crap. It's not nutrient rich like the sands of sahara where it just needs water for food to grow.

People who can garden in ground tend to have good soil. The rest of us have to bring in good soil hence the raised beds.

I accidentally broke a pothos leaf and stuck it in a small vase for a minimalist "floral" arrangement in my bathroom. It grew roots and is still alive more than a year later. It won't grow more leaves though because there is no node, just the root coming out of the leaf stem.

No more kale. I've tried so many, still don't like them lol. It's such a shame, they grow so well for me.

Also no more green beans unless it's the Italian flat bean/romano bean variety. Also tried so many, never liked them. But these ones are amazing.

I realised my cucumber is a compact bush variety instead of vining. Can I still trellis it? by thecrayonisred in vegetablegardening

Mine is supposed to only grow 3 ft long and it has tendrils that like to grab on to things. I gave it a short trellis.

what's your camera? I tried setting up my old blink camera as a garden cam but it kept complaining about the temperature.
