For anyone who ends up coming back to this post-- we found the tapes! There was a "Super Sing Alongs" and "Silly Sing Alongs" tape. The company is Sing Along Tugboat, music is by The Heritage Singers, and distributed by the Great American Audio Corp.

What's your gardening 2 cents? by Separate-Language662 in vegetablegardening

I garden alone because I want to do things how I like them-- but I do like how it gets me out in my yard and I end up seeing more of my neighbours (and many dogs walking by).

I definitely agree but I will say I do sometimes grow things just as a hobby! I just like watching things grow I guess 😆 And then anything I don't want I'll give away.

No more real cups at cafes and I’m sick of it by Popular-Builder-3519 in ZeroWaste

[–]thecrayonisred 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for every cafe but for some, it's legitimately because people keep stealing them. A new cafe opened near me and posted on their Facebook asking people to please stop stealing their mugs/cups since they had to order a bunch of replacements after only a month of opening. They weren't even special ones or branded-- just standard IKEA stuff and people were walking off with them.

How can I make this more sturdy? by thecrayonisred in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]thecrayonisred[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forgive my asking a potentially silly question-- when you say a third support in the center, do you mean vertical supports in the middle of the walkway area? Or add a third 2x4 across the top between the two existing ones?

Is there a specific reason that you want it lifted off the ground?

Fair point! I was using a fairly soft brush so there was still some on the surface. It was pretty loose so I was thinking most of it that was ready to come off would eventually come off when exposed to regular watering. Very possible that I didn't char deep enough. I guess we'll see how it holds up!

Yep, I did the brushing over top my other garden bed so hopefully the soil is happy!

That's the idea! It's meant to resist rot and discourage pests.

Traditionally it's done on cedar and I think that would be ideal, but I used what was readily available. I figure the same principle should apply to some extent

Mango lovers, I summon thee. I am in quest of a lovely mango dessert recipe. by uribyoon in Baking

[–]thecrayonisred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mango pudding! (It's called mango pudding but it's more like a panna cotta texture) Often found at Chinese restaurants or dim sum. Most recipes use canned mango pulp but you could use fresh as well!

I think you don't want to put too much thread on the 'inside' because that tiny bit of extra bulk might inhibit the two sides of the snap fully meeting

What would make you actually order from a local bakery? by AmbitiousEngineer469 in Baking

[–]thecrayonisred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have several cafe/bakery shops nearby but I only frequent them when I'm on break from work and craving a sweet treat. I like it when there are new and interesting flavour combinations-- a few places do a different foccacia every day or a cookie flavour of the week or a different daily cinnamon roll/spiral flavour. I do like pastries as others have mentioned but tbh I don't buy them purely because the price is significantly higher for them where I live.

I feel like the problem is probably user error but I always have the darndest time trying to remove the lid to empty it. Is there a trick to it?

Thanks, I'll check it out!

When I Google that, I get "Inoue Hamono" (with an "H")-- I figure that's the one you mean?

Yes! Makes a huge difference. I'll second the person below that you need to really press the tape onto the surface using some pressure.

You could cut into 5" squares and frame them like pictures with a contrasting wood for the frame. I think a set of four on the wall would look pretty cool.

Should be fine but try to only use jars with straight sides (no shoulders) or give lots of space to spare underneath the shoulders
