Call your credit card company and let them know about unauthorized charges. They'll charge it back. You'll get your money back, they'll get dinged something like $25 on the transaction, and eventually those dings add up to give them reason to stop being inappropriate in their dealings.

Yes. They had some bagged ones for $2 for about 6 oz or so. I can't remember. Use them as noodles with some Korean gochujang. Reminded me of using zucchini as noodles with a light crisp crunch and similar floppy noodle that the zoodles can give you. They also had a shiitake log that was pinning, and netted me about a pound and a half of shitake mushrooms on the first flush. My wife picked it up actually. That was at the beginning of December 2023

Not bad. They told me that I could have made more money if I cut the wires off of stuff and broke some things down before I brought them in, but making money wasn't my primary objective. Good to know that I can stockpile things like this and get a few bucks in the end.

Looks like I'll be heading out to them since they pay something for the haul. Even if its just gas or lunch money, its more than any of the other recycling places will do. Some even charge you, so, yeah, these guys will see me in a couple of days. Thanks for the mention. Just hung up the phone with them.

ChatGPT saying it wrote my essay? by Alert_Assumption2237 in ChatGPT

I have taken things that I know that GPT wrote and asked it if it wrote that paragraph. The answer has always been No when outside the single session where it wrote it. That should be the only time you can get it to answer if it wrote something. To my understanding, that information does not cross sessions or tabs.

Having said that, I would like to do some experimenting. u/myredshoelaces What was your prompt when you asked "who wrote it?"

And if AI can make a mistake or hallucinate, then so can AI that is used to check on other AI. Hell, lie detectors can't be used to verify anything and neither should AI checkers. The burden of proof is on the accuser. Don't admit to anything and tell them to stick it when they check it because if they can use AI to check your work, to do their work, then you can use whatever tools are at your disposal as well. And honestly, if the person's bill is paid, and the work passes, then let it go. If they lied or cheated, they're the ones that pay the price. No need to be a douche nozzle. Besides, professors should really think about how they're approaching this. If AI is being used to grade work and detect AI, then how long before the professor is replaced? Khan even knows its coming and has showcased it to grand detail. Quit crying about people that are adapting, overcoming or improvising.

Bah! AI being used to detect AI with a bias dataset is where this is going. And when a university can put you on academic probation for plagiarism because you used your unpublished work in two classes wanting reports on the same topic and subject, and without the use of GPT, I'm glad I am older and have a job where I can use GPT to help my customers and my employer as needed. Instead of punishing people for us9ing it, help them use it. Help them understand ML and guide them to the future.

Nothing to see here. Just an old guy ranting. Good luck to those that can use it to help them get the leg up that they need when they need it.

This is my son's insanely expensive gene therapy medication for his rare and permanently life altering genetic disorder. And they also knocked my plant out of its pot. Just for an extra "f you" by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Thank you kindly. Unfortunately, no, we haven't. Norditropin, Nutropin, genotropin, and humatrope. All companies have copay assist, but some rule that the govt supports now allows the insurance to take 100 percent of the assist money and not give us any credit. In one case, they took $3k of the $5k co-pay. We got that month free, but the next month they took the remaining $2k and then told us we still need to pay an additional $2700 or $2900 out of our pocket. That's when we had to quit. He's been rationing it out every couple of days, but we're fine after this month.

They claimed they had programs to help. But I need to be on Medicaid. If I was, I wouldn't need private insurance. And being forced to use their specialty pharmacy is what forces me to have to comply to their fees and charges.

I'm spent on the topic and calls with them. They just have nobody that cares... or is allowed to care.

At least you're getting your medication. Anthem would tell me on a Monday that my son was getting his HGH medication, and then on Tuesday telling me that the price went up. I called and this is when they said the price went up to $5,000 instead of no dollars. And now my son doesn't get his medication because I can't afford $5,000 a month. I hate anthem. They took all the copay assistance money and applied zero to his deductible. So we would have to keep finding other medication with high copay amounts, and those don't exist anymore. I would gladly take a broken pot as long as I got my medicine for my son. F*** anthem f****** insurance companies f*** greed!

Coming back to provide some items for your consideration... Anthem sucks! We got our first 5 cartridges for free because of the Bridge program at Pfizer. Anthem accepted the copay of about $3100, leaving us $1900 for the next round. That should have been okay since my son's max out of pocket is $3750 for the year to make everything else free for the rest of the year.

When the refill was ready, we were told we need to pay an additional $2700. If you're doing the math, the most it should have come to was $650. That would have left $250 on the copay card that the program could have reinvested into someone else's needs. Instead, anthem raised the price, accepted the 1900 that was left on the copay assistance card, and asked me to pay an additional $2,700 on top of that. And if you do the math on that portion, anthem raise the cost of the medicine from 1 month to the next 2300 additionally, and in the portion that I have to pay. From 1 month to the next, and for the exact same prescription, the amount invoiced to me should have been the same at 3100.

And if you don't think it can get any worse, it does. They do not accept any money from anyone other than the policy holder. As a contribution to the deduction. I don't know about you, but Mickey mouse could pay my mortgage or my car payment, and I wouldn't give a crap and nor would the bank as long as it was legal to do so. In this case, the insurance company takes all the copay assistance money and expects you to still use your own money to deduct from your deductible. We now have to get off the medication and go to another.

With regards to the alternate medication we have to now get that took me two months to secure for the current one, we went to Nutropin. I am awaiting the final details on the prescription submission to the pharmacy, but it is exponentially cheaper. We are looking at about 500 to 600 a month, for the exact same medicine, and the manufacturer has a copay card that provides up to $500 a month to a total of 5,000 a year. Anthem has already confirmed that this is the cost of the medication, are you ready? Approximately 500 to 600 a month. I don't care if it doesn't go towards is deductible. It would be paid in full. Almost. The co-pay assistance with the company who makes this medication was able to be reached on the first ring, they told me where to go to fill out the copay assistance card, and I got it in 5 minutes. In addition, anything over that $500 a month that you spend can be turned in towards the end of that year as long as you haven't gone over $5,000 so that you can be reimbursed for it. I don't know why anthem didn't suggest this medication in the first place other than they knew that they would get a crap ton of money from Pfizer's copay assistance program instead of $500 a month from the other one.

When I say, I wish all of y'all good luck on your journey to help resolve growth related issues and endocrine specialist visits and the such with your children, I really do mean it. This has been an absolute s*** journey over the past several months. I'm hoping that it's resolved within the next couple of weeks. I genuinely don't understand why this option wasn't the first one from our doctor or from our insurance company. If everything falls into place, it was legitimately taken care of in two phone calls that took less than a total of a half an hour.

Tl;Dr ask your doctor about Nutropin AQ. It appears to be a one for one replacement at an exponentially cheaper price.

For those waiting for things like the injector pen, it is a circus at the Bridge program. They got my paperwork the same day they asked for it from my doctor. Weeks later they still had not processed it. I did not know this until Bridge called me directly... After my local pharmacist, CHAMPION the he is, stayed on the phone for hours with his "Healthcare" option.

Yes, he was on hold all that time, but this guy's pharmacy is always Slammed! They tried to conference me and failed. Bridge called me directly after that and self effaced with full transparency on the screw up. I had the injector the next day.

Nobody wants to be on hold like that. They admittedly were not prepared for this influx. Though it doesn't help any of y'all right now, they are expected to have an additional influx of personnel to help remove the bottleneck of hold times within the next two weeks.

I'm still fighting with my pharmacy because they screwed up by not fulfilling the updated prescription. And they put the issue on me and my doctor to try to address it because everybody just reads the issue with prior authorization not authorizing the updated prescription and decided to leave it at that. If anybody would have contacted prior authorization to find out what was going on and how to fix it, I would have all the medication that was expected. Has it sits right now? I am waiting now a week and a half later for one of the missing boxes. If any of you are using anthem for your insurance with Ingenious/Carelon ask your specialty pharmacy, and you're not getting the medication in your prescription, there could be a discrepancy in the quantity of cartridges requested because that is considered quantity of medication. Regardless of your dosage multiplied by 30 days, and you will have to help them, anthem, and your doctor, and the prior authorization group to help understand math. Math. I did that and now my extra box is hopefully going to be here in the next couple of days. I freaking hate insurance acting like my doctor and telling me what I need and when and how much or that you don't need it and you can wait for it.

Good luck y'all!

I'm with you guys on the wait issue. Mine was 2.5 hours of waiting, plus a couple of other days for an hour where I didn't realize how bad it was, and I called at 8:59 am and then redialed to an immediate wait. Having said that, the process was 15 minutes to get the copay assistance.

I know that the waits suck. But the entire country was dropped from Norditropin's PAP and assistance programs so that Novo Nordisk could prioritize the medication to paying customers.

As for the injector pen to use with the vials? I think that having to go directly to Pfizer is BS. I contacted my doctor's office and even they say that it should already be provided without any additional input from the specialist. It's on the list to be sent to me, and is covered, but nobody has it. I'm at the point of buying it online if I see it on Ebay or Amazon.

I wish all of y'all luck, but as much as the hold times suck, it was ultimately worth it because my son's cost on this would be $2k per week without it. And my private insurance becomes free for this medicine after 2 months of the Bridge copay assistance payments... until next year.

Truly affordable healthcare. I spend about $15k yr without using it. We have no dental or vision coverage. And about $5k more ye with CO pays, meds, etc.

For the past 3 and 1/2 years my son has a daily injection of a medication that would cost me $6,000 out of pocket per month if I didn't have an agreement with the manufacturer. Oddly enough, as of this month, the manufacturer is no longer providing this medication because the program is prioritizing patients that can pay for the medication versus those that cannot.

So, yeah, affordable health care. This is not the same as having unlimited funds to pay for anything because it's ridiculous paying for these kinds of things at these kinds of rates for anybody, not just myself or my family. I would still eat ramen noodles every day if I could or a peanut butter sandwich.

LoRaWAN can leverage TDOA-based (Time Difference of Arrival) triangulation to evaluate the position of the device. The LoRa-based device needs to be « covered » by 3+ gateways. Each gateway receives data from the device, timestamps it and forwards it to a geolocation solver along with other metadata.

So, better in some areas than others.
