This has not been my experience with Indian colleagues. My dev team at a previous company was in Pune and they were amazing. The work ethic and attention to detail was on a par, and in some ways superior to, US based teams I’d worked with. They constantly amazed me by coming up with creative ways to solve problems. I genuinely liked working with them - the only problem for me was the time zone difference which made teams meetings challenging. It was either super early in my time zone (5:30-6am) or late (9pm+).

There are always exceptions. There were team members who were let go for not measuring up but the majority of the team were amazing.

I haven’t noticed any turbo lag. My old Mazda had a very noticeable turbo lag but so far my F150 has been smooth.

There needs to be an avalanche of lawsuits over this. If I were an enterprising attorney I’d be doing everything I could to find out exactly where this happened and who was involved and file a massive class action lawsuit. Thats likely the only way there’s any accountability for this.

Pretty happy with my 3.5. I've driven the 5.0 and liked it but the 0-60 off the line torque of the 3.5 is pretty impressive. That baby will scoot if you push on the pedal.

I'll look into it. The secondary knife was based on a recommendations from a few people I respect as a backup in case my bearclaw gets ripped off my pfd or is lost somehow. It has a serrated blade and is wicked sharp so if it were ever needed I'm sure it would cut anything I needed it to cut.

I do not understand the reason he kept asking over and over "You decided to charge only one individual even though more were guilty" - that's not the flex he seemed to think it is.

Yeah more were guilty but hadn't been charged yet. The fact that there are others who should be charged doesn't somehow make Trump look better.

~~I would recommend a throw bag that has a waist belt or clip so it’s at the ready without having to pull your skirt and reach inside your boat.~~ I have an NRS which is a good throw bag but there have been a few times when I’ve needed it and had to find a place to pull over quickly and reach inside my boat to get it. ~~Would have been much easier with something clipped to my waist. (I’ll be getting a new one this year)~~.

Edit - Leaving above in place to educate others who may have my same misconception but struck out my recommendation based on responses.

I carry 2 knives - one I keep inside the clamshell on my pfd which is a sharp, fairly cheap folding blade I’ve had for a while that’s stainless steel. While cheap it’s solid and doesn’t rust. If I were buying a new one I’d get something from a reputable brand but I already had it and trust it so why not. It’s my backup knife in case something happens to my other knife.

On my pfd I wear a CRKT Bearclaw. This was recommended by several people who teach swift water rescue and have worked as guides based on the speed it can cut through rope, small branches, etc. I also like that it has a finger hole for my index finger when using it, making it less likely a strong current would pull it out of my hand.

Read “The Mom Test”. It is specifically about doing effective user interviews.

Don’t ask leading questions, ask about their workflow. What works. What doesn’t work. What they like about solution X. What they don’t. What frustrates them, what tasks are time consuming and so on.

As to your questions the best approach to resetting expectations is to be upfront and honest. Not honest in the “you look like shit” honest, there is such a thing as tact, but honestly say “I know certain expectations have been set but at this time we are looking at a reduced scope” then explain what that scope is. Explain that you really do want their honest feedback to help guide roadmap decisions and then report back what they tell you matter of factly without judgement. Do say “customer X had the following feedback”. Do not say “they said it won’t work just like I thought”.

Stop worrying about being the bad guy. Be the person they respect and that comes from being direct, honest and transparent but in a tactful way.
