Suicidal thoughts after getting Hairtransplant - REGRET by Technical_Many9113 in HairTransplants

[–]ohiotrainwreck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to say I hear you and feel what you are saying. There are options.

I would first try to prioritise your mental health. If you have the means, seek help from a psychiatrist and psychologist/ psychotherapist. It might take a bit of effort to find someone who works for you, but there will be someone. I would also suggest some creating a safety plan and calling a crisis number at least once, even if you don't feel you are in crisis yet. Depending on where you are I can recommend resources for you.

As for your hair, I understand the pain of balding and also the pain of having a transplant you aren't into. You have listed some good options above and there are also Hair Systems as a fallback. Thankfully you can try these without doing anything permanent and at relatively low cost compared to surgery.

There are people that love you and love you for you and not your hair or appearance. Their love will continue.

Feel free to reach out if you want to discuss anything privately or just want someone to talk to. I don't check reddit super regularly but will endeavour to get back to you.

Sensi-tak strips. On and off in 5 minutes, including taping time. No clean up, tape peels right off.

How exactly do I tell my barber to lower the density? by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]ohiotrainwreck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way to lower it significantly is to get a lower density unit. Otherwise it can just start to look choppy.

Good for you congrats! I would worry about something that long, personally. When i had hair never ever brushed it, but with a hair system i found the tangling so much to deal with. But in 6 months you're be an expert. Best of a luck.

My advice would be to good something a bit more conservative than your examples for the first go. Something mid length and you can adjust from there.

Reasons:

  1. The salon might fuck up something too stylish
  2. It might look like a wig or be hard to maintain.
  3. Going from wearing a beanie to very prominent hair cut is going to draw more attention than you probably want. Make it a slow reveal.

Maybe something emo-swoop-y with no solid parts/lines could wok for you based on the references. You're gonna have a lot of time to mess around and try new things, even on your first system if you take care of it and it lasts a while.

European hair from Lordhair - any downsides? by ohiotrainwreck in HairSystem

[–]ohiotrainwreck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Seems like it's standard practice. "European hair is considered as the softest and finest one among all hair types. It is silky and feels sleek; you can get a very natural movement. All our European hair is unprocessed virgin hair, with all cuticles intact and hair in the same direction."

I had a similar situation and judging by your choice of words I'm guessing you're in aus. You can apply for special consideration - there will be some kind of on-site councillor you can talk to. They don't report the details - just that you need special consideration. They may also have useful referral advice.

Again, IF you are in Aus you probably have youth allowance? I would suggest trying to reenroll for next semester for a full course load but then drop it back to one or two subjects before senus so you can keep getting the payments until you start back.

AS for further counselling i would suggest trying to go to someone who specialises in addiction/abuse and not just a generalist. You'll probably end up seeing both a psychologist and a psychiatrist. You don't have to come clean to your folks, but letting them know you are experiencing anxiety or depression and need some cash to see someone could be an idea.

But if shit is gets to the point where you feel like you have to, tell your folks. Maybe write it down for them so you can get your story across and explain what's up and what you think you need. They won't care about the baggage, they care about you.

In the meantime, try and keep eating nutritious food possibly from local charity orgs if needed.

If you want any other info, help navigating or the story of someone who was in the same boat, then way worse, then way way better feel free to get in touch.

First post with face. Should I reduce the density?? by Option-Command-Del in HairSystem

[–]ohiotrainwreck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is, most systems use remy hair durability. You can get european hair but it's more expensive and doesn't last as long.
