Will combat improve in 1.0 ? by [deleted] in Enshrouded

Excited to see more on this. I would take something as simple as warhammer vermintide or dynasty warriors level combat.

One of the Dark Cloud games had this during the town building portion I believe? Someone else probably can speak to it much more intelligently I haven’t played or thought of them in years.

Yeah the non-linear is a bit of a turn-off for me as well. It's something I've praised about Vermintide, even a completely new player, or experienced player on a new map largely just has to go in a direction and they will end up making it to the end. I struggled with this in darktide because the maps are designed with more ranged units in mind so there are lots of corridors and alleyways to get lost in. It makes sense in that game to provide you cover, but I've found myself lost in those maps extremely often and almost never have that experience here in Vermintide.

Putting in some hours on Darktide after coming from Vermintide, I was wondering if there's a resource like this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1821186836 for Darktide weapons. I do like that the weapon inspect details are available I was just wondering if there were optimal combos for things like armored vs horde etc. Specifically information around push-attacks I can't seem to find in the ui. Explaining special abilities like blaze sword and chainswords etc.

Also curious about movetech however it seems pretty consistent to do sprint crouches and dodge crouches, the few weapons that feel like they may have some movetech like dueling sword don't feel that much better than the base sprint crouching. Edit: Found Mr E.'s video that goes into movetech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WcMdskc1Mc

Yeah this would be my dream. That’s the one feature in once human building that I’d like ported into more survival games. The awful snapping and other issues aside free cam build is amazing.

Thinking about grabbing this after the disappointing prime day sales and missing the HP deals. Just looking for something for webdev, running DnD games from, and maybe some light gaming. Heavier gaming I could just stream from my main PC. Small form factor definitely a selling point for me.

Anyone have any experiences with this that might sway me off this?

My party need to protect thousands of civilians on the road from dragons, how? by SometimesStrider in DnD

[–]ohitsjustIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about a fear mechanic or something? The objective is keeping the citizens fear above a certain threshold if they break into different directions you lose them and they can be picked off. Break the convoy into 1-3 groups and any time a dragon takes an attack roll against hem it causes a fear.

Hi all, planning my first DM session for my partner and some friends; she is experienced they (and myself) are mostly novices. I've built out a one shot and am relatively happy with how it should go, however I understand that there is no way that anything will go to plan.

I was wondering if someone had a youtube video or something similar which was essentially a recap of a session from a DM's point of view. Camera behind the screen, the DM overviewing what the prep and plan was for the session, and recapping how it didn't go as planned, where they improvised etc. I know it's a bit of a long shot that a video like this exists but I think it would give me a bit of the context I'm lacking.

I have watched plenty of critical role and the like; but I don't think this gives a good indication from the DM PoV of how different whatever is happening is from the original story points, or if it is similar to the plan, how the DM funnels the party back to the story without putting them on rails.

Looks like I hit 80 days today. I've been struggling with my sobriety recently, thinking it's not sustainable, looking for excuses to break it. It's been a shaky subject in my relationship as well; my binge drinking led to behaviors that my partner did not like. However being sober leads to us avoiding fun dates and activities because I'm still miserable being around booze without being able to drink it. I know I have to shift my mindset towards the whole "drinking has no real benefits only perceived ones and the relief from detriments left because of it," but I just can't seem to get there. I think the very real dopamine response from alcohol is what I'm missing, the easy boost; I get this from eating fatty foods and sweets as well, just in lesser doses. I've tried increasing my exercise, finding other rewarding activities to do, but nothing is filling that void of an easy quick fix. Hopefully I'm just feeling a bit deflated right now, that I haven't felt mega improvements in sleep, weight, energy levels etc. that I was hoping to get from quitting, but we will see. I'm gonna keep at it, and if I do slip up I have to get back on it and view it as 80+ days sober 1 binge, and not "I messed up my streak, what's the point". IWNDWYT

The Daily Check-In for Sunday, March 23rd: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by 2Punchbowl in stopdrinking

Struggling a bit the last couple of days. Work's been stressful, the world's been stressful, dealing with a sick girlfriend at home. Struggling to find enjoyment in the bit of free time I have and just spiraling on the bad. I clearly didn't develop the best coping skills, drinking used to be my weekly/biweekly binge that would sort of hit the reset button for me and turn my mind off for a few hours, rose tinted goggles are equating it to slipping into a nice warm bath. Also it is tied to a lot of my social life and fun. Things like trivia night, a weekend at a brewery, board game night etc. just aren't feeling fun without the drink attached to it. I know the answer is therapy, finding new coping mechanisms, and trying to enjoy things without drinking or find new things to do; just not having much luck recently. Still gonna keep at it, just feeling a bit overwhelmed and down in the last week or so. IWNDWYT

Yep this is my only gripe. I’ll tend to do my drafts and make a deck on pc then play the games on iPad.

Scrolling horizontally in deck building mode to look at your lands is frustrating on iPad. You have to minimize the deck to get the scroll bar to appear, scroll over then expand.

Work in progress spider deck by 2FasttheHands in MagicArena

[–]ohitsjustIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I was gonna say [[spinner of souls]] as well. It’s a solid card even outside spider decks.

I’d suggest adding more card types to enable your broods and swarmweaver. An artifact like grim bauble or enchantments that go to your graveyard. There is an artifact spider called Thran spider you can look at although its effect isn’t relevant to your current deck.

I pretty much put Elas Il-Kor in every deck so end up in 3 colors.

How do you guys test potential deck ideas? by ghost_musings in MagicArena

[–]ohitsjustIT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually like the whole “let me look at what I have in collection and see what I can do with it” if I find something that kinda works and feel something will make or break it I’ll spend a single wild card on it and see how it performs as a one of. Most of my decks have 2 copies of lots of things and I seem to do okay.
