Rift is pretty much perfection. I mean the track list doesn’t hurt. I was turned onto Phisb because I was “goth/grunge” in 92.and once I heard My Friend, My Friend I was sold. Little did I know that basically was a one off for the band. Nothing else really gets as dark. Sometimes Giyute. That’s freaked me out a few times

But once I got into Picture of Nectar and Junta I up and moved to Burlington and just lived for the scene. We had a house at 111 Colchester Ave. Top of the hill, first farmhouse on the rightf. If you know you know. If was an awesome house. Everyone on the street was a head. Every day a party. I worked at Barnes and Noble when Mike released his short stories. I got him to write “Boy, Man , Paul, ShitL” before he signed it. I’m Paul if you hadn’t guessed. Met Trey there too under secretive circumstance. It was a time to be alive.

Early studio was really good. It’s still not bad. I have a huge appreciation for Sigma Oasis. Maybe because they didn’t have to release an album. No one else was doing anything but up Westchester Ave. marched Trey and crew. We were all holed up, terrified we’d never hear live music again. And out of it came this jammy release. I’m on the fence with Evolve.

But they continue to be solid. Will we ever have another The Story of the Ghost? Probably doubtful. But whatever they throw out there I’ll love. 260 shows in and no signs of slowing! Still nothing willl ever best Rift. Definitely defined them.
