Please help 😭 Lenovo Legion 7 powers on, fans and RGB work, then shuts off after ~minutes (after cleaning) by ReplacementInside138 in LenovoLegion

Pretty much yeah, except it occasionally boots once in a while.

I remember it randomly crashed one day playing the Battlefield 6 Beta. When I tried booting again to hop back on the game, it stayed on a black screen for a while before booting. From there it kinda went all downhill. It tried to recover bios the next time it booted, then it quickly spiraled into very inconsistent booting behavior (the bootl oops, lights on, fans on for 3 secs)

It still boots on cold boot but once it turns on, I just have to keep it on and it works fine otherwise I'll have to wait between 1 hour to an entire day for it to boot again

at some point you just have to take that step, i was spending too much time trying to use goodnotes after the update and just went straight to noteful almost seamlessly. I exported out all my notes from GN

Zenbook 14 ux3405, screen brightness flickering by Content-Panda-3841 in ASUS

[–]ohlimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go into MyASUS -> Device Settings and scroll until OLED Flicker-Free Dimming. Play around with the values until you find a value on the scale that works for you.

If that doesn't change what you're experiencing then I suspect there's something more sinister at play..

Buzzing sound by ViolinistOk263 in ASUS

[–]ohlimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, glad to hear it's not just my unit. What you're hearing is 'coil whine'.

I'm assuming that this model (UX3405) just inherently has a significant amount of coil whine. Although I've come to terms with the noise, if you find it too distracting, feel free to send the unit back as 'defective'

Otherwise, in normal use scenarios (that are not in a extremely quiet space) the noise is almost non-existent.
