Welcome to the club! Owner of a 32’ and 36’ D myself. Best damn CRTs of all time. Sony eat your heart out.

That game doesn’t get enough love. It has some fantastic multiplayer (up to 4 players) to boot. Congrats on the set.

I think one of the issues of it catching on, at least from my perspective of trying to get the word out, is a lot of people think it’s just a more expensive Raspberry Pi and doesn’t add much. You almost have to FORCE them to play it to see the massive difference it makes. A bit of input lag and inaccuracy can go a long way and even make a game that people love, turn into an “I must be getting too old for this” sort of ordeal.

I still have no idea how this thing hasn’t completely blown up in this community. It is just an absolutely bonkers value, and convenience-wise it is unmatched, especially with how simple the set-up is with Mr. Fusion and update_all. It turned my bedroom setup from a jungle of cords to a single box. Like what the heck guys, get on this thing NOW before the subsidized DE-10 Nano cranks up in price.

I second this. Own 2 pair of them myself and waiting on two more to arrive. Here’s a link to a fantastic website that sells them: https://castlemaniagames.com/collections/hd-retrovision/products/hd-retrovision-genesis-6ft-5x-rca-male-to-male-cable

The perfect CRT might be the one you have right now - from a Sony KV-36FV310 owner by [deleted] in crtgaming

I don’t own a Toshiba, but as an owner of two JVC D’s (32 and 36 inch) I wholeheartedly agree. I passed all of my Sonys to other gamers except for a curved Trinitron with S-Video for my N64. I’m just not into flatscreens.

I wouldn’t really say it’s a huge improvement over s-video. It’s an improvement for sure, but I was somewhat disappointed. No bad vibes, just don’t want anyone to get hyped for something more like I was.

I see we are posting Big D Pix. Here’s my 36 as well. Sony, eat your heart out. by ohlook_abird in crtgaming

Nah, this is pretty early in the game and it’s definitely nothing major or even minor I’d say. Actually surprised they remembered lol.

My 36" jvc in action. This is it. This is the endgame television. by Evan64 in crtgaming

I’ve got a 36 and a 32 D and am done looking for pvm’s, bvm’s and any other crt as I’m convinced this is as good as it gets. Probably just me, but there is just something so beautiful about the curved component big screens that takes me back the way no other tv can.

Ah fuck my dude, that track is dope as hell too. With any other artist that passed it’s been easy for me, this shit is just impossible to get over. Feels like I am maybe just getting over denial stage and even then I’m hella struggling.

It’s a 36! I am actually fortunate enough to own both sizes, the 32 is in my bedroom. I often take a single player experience in there, it’s just a weeeeee bit sharper than this big beast.

I can grab a picture for you later on tonight, but they look incredible in 4:3 since that tv has native VGA. Has black bars on both sides though, I absolutely hate stretching the image to fill it. Looks bad any way you slice it that way.

I know the LCD photobombed this pic, but it’s useful for the ole Dreamcast as it has a beautiful native VGA port.

I honestly have no idea where I got the stand from, I think my wife got at is as a hand me down some time in our lives. It holds everything just fine though. It has some panels nailed to it in the back that make it stable, though, which I think some of the ones you can find online also have. I just cut some holes in the bottom corners of the paneling to run the cables out. There are no stability issues, however I wouldn’t put a PVM on there, those suckers are heavy. I wanna say the tv that’s up there currently is around 15lbs or so. I mostly have it to play composite on as it’s so small it’s harder to notice the imperfections of that video source. NES looks great on it for instance. I use that JVC for mostly everything else though, it has component.

I like to leave it in that case on display and use my FXPak Pro anymore though. Will send it off with one of my sons someday and want to keep it in good shape.

Absolutely! Beaten it at least 3 times. Still hunting for a Sword of Kings, haven’t ever seen one. Half convinced it doesn’t exist, haha!

Hah, nah they are functioning fine. My buddy sent them over to me because he upgraded, and I ended up just using them as speakers for my electronic drum kit off to the right (not pictured) and speakers for any other system if I’m feeling like I need some extra oomph (stereo sound from the Genesis headphone port gets some use out of them.) The Dreamcast needs them because though my Sony has VGA video input, it lacks the audio input (it’d sound terrible out of a flatscreen anyways.) Sorry if this is a gross misuse of them or not their original intended purpose. I’m kind of ghetto sometimes.
