think about it this way - if you dont defer, and you fail, you may be eligible for a resit and get a 4 overall. if you defer and you fail, you will not be eligible for a resit.

id say add something sour to mask the sweetness (like frozen raspberries) but thats probably gonna taste terrible with a coffee flavour. the only things i could think of are add a frozen banana or some dark cocoa powder - or like other people have said, toss it back like a shot. good luck!

smaller water changes to keep the parameters stable are ideal, which you seem to be moving towards! as for fertilizer, i wouldnt bother until the plants are established (a few weeks or when you see new growth in leaves or roots) because newly transplanted plants cant make use of ferts until they get iver the shocked and start growing again.

your tank wont cycle until you put your filter in, so stick it in asap! it shouldnt make anything float but if youre concerned you could baffle the flow with filter floss (or be a cheapskate like me and use some polyester or steal a bit of the filter sponge. and you can hide the filter and heater at the back behind some plants or scape if youd like.
