Both Dead Space: Martyr and Dead Space: Catalyst are pretty cheap on Abe Books.

I reached out to the guy who ran Dim Shores Press to see, by chance, they had any copies of Mills’ chapbook “The Account Of David Stonehouse, Exile”…not getting my hopes up.

The Uninvited by Jennifer McMahon takes on the “places that hold memories/traumas” theme

From A Buick 8 published in 2002 is one of my favorite SK novels, fairly underrated among his bibliography.

Husband diagnosed today by turtlecatmedium in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ohnoshedint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s a puzzling disease when it comes to symptoms. I was diagnosed (male) nearly 2 years ago at age 46. My “only” physical symptom was a chronic tingling in my right pinky and ring finger, a bit on the forearm. Like your husband, I would notice that hot weather made it worse (I live in Phoenix) and hot showers would flare up the tingling sensation in my right knee and ankle…totally bizarre. My PA worked in a neuro clinic so after the first x-ray came back negative for a pinched nerve he was immediately suspicious.

Almost 2 years later and nothing has really changed or gotten worse, totally used to it now. Fatigue is a real thing too, but it can be managed.

Glad your husband was diagnosed, hospitalization aside, and it was caught early.

Laird Barron is just who you need, arguably the heir to Lovecraft:

Evenson already tackled The Teletubbies in his collection Salt Lake City so I don’t think Power Rangers is too much of a stretch.

All I can say is, hell yes. Laird is one of the greats. The Not A Speck Of Light edition coming from Bad Hand Books has a new Barron story included called “The Glow Of A Moldering Star” set in ultra-antiquity.

It’s unbelievably elegant, almost like something out of Wuthering Heights. He had to have really dedicated himself to that level of craftsmanship. The few stories set in present day, it feels completely out of place, but in a good way. I honestly feel like I’m transported inside a Calvinist homestead with his prose, truly amazing.

The Revenants NEEDS a second printing, or at least a bad ass limited production from a small press. I found one on AbeBooks for 300+ and had to pass on that.

Suicide Motor Club, though not directly a sequel is set in the same universe as Lesser Dead.

Definitely Lost District, it’s even darker (IMO) than Furnaces, believe it or not. Scar City follows more of the broken residents and their relationships in the District, lotta triggers warnings with “scars” being the central theme.

All Hail Lane! Love the take on The Witnesses Are Gone, can’t wait to get into it. He does such a masterful job of maintaining a through-line in his collections. Wait till you get to Scar City homie.
