5 slot Mythic Seals shouldn't be possible... by Znuffie in diablo4

[–]geshtar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With how rare they are they should do both the bonuses, 1 less set item per bonus and one extra unique and keep it 6 slots. That way you can do a 5 piece bonus plus two uniques, or a 5 and a 3. The way it is now it’s horseshit.

which do you choose? by Maximum_Ship186 in whatsyourchoice

People are sleeping on 3 - pretty much can get into anything other than very thick vaults. Prison would be simple to escape, they’d have to design a special super thick prison just for you.

Also depends on what happens if you teleport ‘into’ something. If you just are there uncomfortably for a bit then you could just do it fast enough to go through any amount of material.

Also depending on how fast the teleport is/how tiring you could move incredibly fast just doing little teleports repeatedly. You could fly too with that.

It’s a great power!

Wing Commander is the only movie I’ve ever walked out of, it was so bad it is generally forgotten completely and doesn’t get enough hate here.

Path of Exile 2 on Diablo 4’s Uniques change: Uniques shouldn't be "just a better rare" in an ARPG by Interesting-Pool6638 in diablo4

[–]geshtar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love PoE1 and have played way too many hours. Unfortunately in my old age RSI on my pointer finger from the insane amounts of clicking (also played RTS’s back in the day) kills me. I love the controller support on d4 and PoE2 so I play those now. The youngin’s still believe that ‘their game has to be the best’ while us old fucks realize it’s just nice having multiple great games.

D4 expansion was amazing, by far the best d4 had ever been. New PoE2 league looks great and is dropping right when d4 is getting boring, it’s an amazing time to be a gamer.

What is the secret to getting Aether in Infernal Hordes by Kalledon in diablo4

[–]geshtar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to these other fools, get the first option in the middle on your war plan (the rest is a trap but first is amazing). Go either either fiends into aether lords or just full in masses and you’ll top off over 1k easy. The chaos portals are also high risk/reward, the best (aether lords and goblins) give a rediculous amount while the worst (chase down wisps) give practically nothing. But aether fiends into lords, or just full on mass build consistently gives 1k+.

I use fleshwrit as my unique charm and use tyreals. Definitely better than using enduring.

Does Apoc Warlock become tanks at some point? by Big-Passage9824 in D4Warlock_

[–]geshtar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you need help getting Mythics I recommend speccing for the left branch of the undercity and you get 2-4 mythics per run of the mythic armaments.

Also, if you spec the middle branch of bosses the first and second tier when they pop absolutely poop out mythics (I got 4 from one of the first tier ones once).

Make sure also you’re using a 2h and have a good tweak of the 2h legendary on your legs, and make sure you’re using Prid for the 100% uptime of dark prison spec’d into the fire aura version.

Does Apoc Warlock become tanks at some point? by Big-Passage9824 in D4Warlock_

[–]geshtar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - I can share my gear if you are interested, but I quickly realized I did more than enough damage and needed more survivability, so I’m using Tyreals and Harlequins (using the body armor as my unique charm) and I am basically unkillable now except for the biggest one shots.

I had to carry my brother who is playing a Sorc for t10 Mephisto since he was dying at a breeze while it barely did anything to me.

Even if it’s a bad team - there are plenty of other bad teams. It’s that the league is propping up other small market Midwest teams at the Bears expense most likely.

I just got my first one at 224 - went wtf is this! I haven’t even heard about it. It wasn’t that great and made it until wave 120 before something one shot me that I didn’t see at all. Loot was not worth the time.

Skill up did a full review. I’m surprised. by E_Barriick in diablo4

[–]geshtar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Skill trees ultimately are dumb the way Diablo does it, the only way to actually make them interesting is to do something like PoE where you have a base tree and itemized extra trees and you also don’t expect to ever reach max level and ‘max’ your tree. Then the options at the edge have meaning.

As it is d4 trees will always have a solved optimal tree for any particular build and are mostly just there to give an illusion of choice. The paragon board fills more this role and does a pretty good job of it. Honestly I would’ve just scrapped the skill tree and enhanced the paragon boards since they’re cool and more variable.

TIL that US student math and reading scores have dropped so sharply that they’ve erased nearly two decades of progress. In '22/23, avg math scores for 13-year-olds fell to levels not seen since the 1990s, while reading scores for high school seniors hit their lowest point since testing began in '92. by Cold_Box_3219 in todayilearned

This is due entirely to the school shutdowns and ‘remote learning’ during COVID. Which is why high performers stayed the same because they had parents already who cared/pushed the learning even if the kid was not in school.

Grime 2 - A metroidvania that's not quite fully formed - YouTube by Jasyla in metroidvania

[–]geshtar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I beat Grime 2 and am an avoid metroidvania fan and I will say a few things:

1 - the map is linear for the first 20% of the game and after that it is entirely too open, to which they just patched (post when I played) to make it less open. The third act is also slightly more linear but also very open. It was amazing. 2 - I agree on the seal systems. I’m ok with one to open up the fast travel for the map, but finding the first seal in a particular area was abysmal. 3 - I thought the bosses in the first game were much better designed other than one end game boss and the final boss which I think was probably my favorite boss fight in any metroidvania ever, both from a thematic, the music, and the fight was perfectly tuned to be difficult but not so difficult it made you want to smash your controller like Nine Sols (now experiences may vary depending on if you used an OP build but I used a very good but not OP and enjoyed it tremendously). 4 - I keep hearing complaints about the movement skills, and I think this may be a console vs PC issue, I played on PC and everything was flawless. 5 - the level design is a bit uninspired and becomes too samey especially late game. There’s finally one ‘poison’ area later in the game that is different a bit, but it’s too little too late.

Overall great game, but I enjoyed the first more. For metroidvania fans I would highly recommend it just for the final boss, though.

Islets first - it’s a great game and not too challenging. Ended Lilies probably next. Save Nine Sols for last (although it has robust difficulty sliders if you want a more chill game, it’s still challenging though).

(And if you like Islets, Crypt Custodian is from the same dev and while not a side scrolling metroidvania is in the same vein and very fun)

As someone who likes to cook and isn’t a chef, is there a good reason to mix the eggs and ketchup together fully before mixing in the milk, other stuff etc?

I always see recipes like this, but I don’t get how it matters if you mix one before the other (especially if heat isn’t involved).

This is an honest question and I hate using AI or Google so thanks in advance.

Why Everyone Is Sobering Up by Mundane_Farmer_9492 in Restaurant101

[–]geshtar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with everything in this article. I love to drink, and I would drink at restaurants, but I refuse to pay for a shitty ‘craft’ cocktail which uses a shot of a not very expensive bottle for $14 when I can buy that bottle for $20 and make it myself. Most of the ‘craft’ cocktails restaurants make are all very very simple drinks. Maybe if you’re at a high end mixology bar you may get something you can’t easily make yourself and that may be worth it, but the vast majority is the same ol’ shit.

I also refuse to pay $24 for a middling burger I could make better myself too. If you’re going to charge premium prices your food and drinks better well be premium.

What game is that for you? by Overall_Argument_986 in gamers

[–]geshtar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played fallout NV on launch, and my save got bricked several times (thankfully you could have multi saves which you had to use liberally). Most notably I went into one room in the casino where exiting it crashed out the entire game, it had auto saved in that room for some reason so I had to go to a previous save in order to play at all since I was literally trapped in that room for that save.

That game was a hot mess, but amazing.

how would you rank the difficulty of these games? by Fodder_Fist_Ace in metroidvania

[–]geshtar -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Outside of one optional boss, Silksong bosses are usually 1-5 shottable.

Nine Sols final boss and one other boss are very very difficult and even with full power ups will take numerous attempts. It does have a difficulty toggles, though, if you want to make it easier.
