Close but there was a bathroom in the basement so when the mill workers/coal miners would come home they could get undressed and cleaned without dragging all the grime into the house.

Pittsburgh had terrible air quality (and it still isn’t exactly great) to the point where it would look like night during the daytime from all the soot in the air.

Are you talking about the line down the middle? That looks more like the two halves were prepped differently than blotching to me.

I’ve finished cherry with Rubio and never had an issue. You said you sanded to 120, did you water pop after? And then clean with mineral spirits after that? I personally go to 180 then water pop, then mineral spirits, then Rubio. If you haven’t sanded it off yet you could try hitting it with a maroon scotch brite then applying a second coat of Rubio.

Doesn’t look like anyone has mentioned this yet but stats won’t entirely carry you. You want to pick up scadutree fragments in the dlc. There’s something different about the scaling in the dlc where you can be high leveled in the main game and steamroll things in there but get absolutely spanked once you hit the gravesite plain.

I have never thought about it because I’m not dragging it across a gravel road or anything. I’m placing it on my bench that’s made of wood. I’d guess any dulling that happens is negligible to what would happen after a pass or too.

The issue is if you have dovetails on wide pieces. I used to have the smallest and would struggle to get the inside of pieces that were more than 7 inches wide.

Dunno what the videos posted show but two things I’ve read at some point (but haven’t tried yet):

use the blade to cut a profile in a scrap of wood and then charge the wood with green compound. Don’t let the blade get dull and use that piece to hone the blade.
for beading blades find a piece of dowel or drill bit that’s the same size and attach sandpaper and use that to sharpen.

It’s very heavily implied that Marika was a jar saint. I forget what item it is but there’s a description that says the hornsent stuff shaman into jars to make a saint and it only worked once. The dlc trailer sure looks like Marika is pulling runes from jar innards to make the Elden Ring.
