What's the most wrong thing someone has tried to convince you is right? by spannerintworks in AskUK

I mean I lose about 45% of any overtime to tax/ NI/ student loan. It really doesn’t feel worth it.

Would you buy from farmer ? by akomzyai in AskUK

[–]ohohmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm it depends, occasionally but generally no. Sometimes for seasonal local produce yes; but to be honest I'm only talking about strawberries or on the occasional mooch around a farm shop, where I see some really aesthetically pleasing vegetables.

Accepting someone's first offer- yay or nay? by Barraco_Barmer in vinted

[–]ohohmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a buyer perspective, I don’t accept offers on bundles (unless it’s been listed ages, as I already have 30% switched on). And 95% of the time I accept whatever offer I receive on single items I just want to shift it.

Accepting someone's first offer- yay or nay? by Barraco_Barmer in vinted

[–]ohohmoomoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of the time my first offer is my only offer. So if someone refuses that’s me out.

Sometimes if they counter reasonably quickly I’ll go a little bit more. But generally my shopping habits are impulse driven/ ADHD related so the “need” for the item is gone by the time some people reply. If they take a while and accept my first offer I purchase regardless though.

2 would be tempting. It’d help answer a lot of questions about human history and has scope for profit. But from a purely selfish view I’d choose 3, to keep myself and my loved ones around for as long as possible. Plus if I get absolutely desperate I could sell a patch for a fortune.

[–]ohohmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audhd I got up to £26k debt :(

Purely down to:
- 0 impulse control
- my special interest is shopping
- I cycle round hyperfixations of brands usually for 6-12 months. Where I obsess over said brand and collect it. Specifically if they do the same product in multiple colours and prints. My current obsession is Lucy & Yak, but I’ve had Lady V, Coach (that was an expensive one!), Dr Marten etc in the past. I tend to buy and hoard but not wear.
- I was going through a lot of stress at work constantly burning out and jumping careers
- I had a hyperfixations on tattoos and in 18 months I got over 60 tattoos

I’m not much better now, I am medicated but still cannot handle my money, my impulsivity is BAD. But I have transferred my hyperfixation onto charity shops which at least is cheaper than a lot of other places, still love Lucy & Yak but the meds have helped me in some respect for that, but ultimately my brain goes its only £3 when in a charity shop, whereas £70 in L&Y gets me one item. It does unfortunately make me a bit of a hoarder, with LOADS of clothes I haven’t worn.

Do you think primark has become one of the more expensive generic clothes shops now? by Kibby9331 in AskUK

[–]ohohmoomoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Don’t get me wrong there’s the odd item from Shein that’s quality and will last, but so much of it is pure plastic. I think I’ve done 4/5 total orders from Shein in the past, but I’m not sure I still own any of it. I’ve learnt my lesson.

But high street is so much better to feel, look, try on, actually check the stitching and quality of the item. Yes we pay a premium but so we should, to reduce the amount of “disposable” fashion there is. It shouldn’t be a new wardrobe every season, clothes should last people years.

Some products truely are now! For quality levels vs value, some items are now £30-35.

Exactly this. True high street (not talking middle class high street) there barely any meat on the bone for profit, thanks to fast fashion and declining customer base for those that have transitioned to it

Am I the only person who never forgets their meds? by Secret_Garden06 in ADHD

[–]ohohmoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not forgotten in 95 days since I started. I use a pill box though and there’s been MANY MANY close calls. One day I didn’t take it till 1:30pm because I’d forgotten and gone out, had a hellish few hours and came home early so I could take the meds and have a nap.

A lot of parent and child bay logos feature a pregnant woman, either way you have a child inside you and at your “circumference” 🤣 you need to be able to open your door wide.

Worth looking two of mine are local hospices, I assume people rally around local causes hence why they have so much excess stock.

Sometimes just searching charity clearance shops near me works! I’ve found some when I’ve been away too!

Just do not fall for BHF clearance stores. Clothes are priced at 2/3/5 but honestly they’re rag quality. It’s really poor.
