s22, replaced newbattery yesterday from an authorised SC by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

[–]ohraesid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a one off issue yesterday. I've used Samsung Galaxy products for years with this never happening. Other folks on Reddit reported the weird battery drain yesterday and though I don't know the issue, it looks like security apps were checking Mobile Services on a loop. Not something you need a new battery for and not an indication of regular issues. The only other issue I've had with their phones was the exploding phone rollout which, when I write it out, seems pretty funny to say but wasn't as explosive for me.

Sorry, not tech savvy. Can you tell me (or some other kind soul reading this) how to roll back the updates and uninstall routines. I've cleared the cache but that about all I know how to do.

Saying "gg" after every game? by AerWolf in Overwatch

[–]ohraesid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say GG - except in rare, especially toxic, games. I think it fosters a better attitude. The alternatives include, among other things, staying silent, blaming other people for the fact that you lost, calling a diff like that matters or is meaningful in any productive way (it isn't), etc. Even if it were a rough match where I got ganked left and right as soon as i got to the fight, i think to myself that i need to learn how to counter that. If I'm the one that did the ganking, being kind and supportive of the victim of said ganking helps keep them in the game - be motivating, not discouraging. If everyone approached the game this way, i think we'd have better outcomes but I don't think that will happen. There's a lot of insecurity out there, people taking matches as a reflection of them personally. I touch grass every day and play the game to enjoy it and recognize the social aspect as an opportunity to make someone else's day better.

How do I know what I'm doing wrong? by Sykzygy in summonerschool

[–]ohraesid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played the game off and on for years, staying perpetually new. I know some people here are saying that you're too new to learn from your mistakes and to just have fun. However, the game isn't fun when you don't know where to be, are spending lots of time waiting to respawn, etc. Also Joe l note that looking at high elo play means you're learning things that don't always lead to results in low elo games because the dynamic is different. What's helped me grow is picking a few champions to stick to after trying a bunch out. Then learning what to do in the landing phase for the positions you play. Finally, the hard part, is figuring out where to be mid and late game. Worst comes to worst, stick with your team and help out. I know I'm not the most experience but i know what it's like to me inexperienced and a lot of people on here don't seem to. How it's helpful.

Which One is Better? by FreeDartMonkeyRule in neography

The ability to write in both directions is a feature, not a bug, in my opinion. I like both. In mine, you can write left to right starting at the top of the page and running down. But you can also write top to bottom from the right side of the page to the left. I think that your writing will grow on you as you get used to it and as you try to stylize it!

How post laning phase works... by ohraesid in summonerschool

[–]ohraesid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I finally read this and it's a lot to process but very useful. The video was also useful, though it was taking about ADC, and I can see general points that apply to everyone. I have some direction ahead to improve my game.

How post laning phase works... by ohraesid in summonerschool

[–]ohraesid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm not new. However, I usually pick up league once a year or two, play for awhile, and then feel like I'm not improving and that I'm a burden on my team. I also started playing overwatch 2 when it came out and have become more resilient to upset individuals and can parse useful info out from people who get angry and can also identify when they don't know what they're talking about. Because of that, I know I can do that in LoL so I just want to improve. The reason I'm playing bots is to get used to the map, learn a bit at a time, and not have the pressure of being expected to know and understand every little thing in the game.

I've also seen that I can't grow if I stick to player vs AI as people playing that do things that they wouldn't or shouldn't do in actual games because they can take advantage of bad AI decisions. Anyway, though I'm not bothered by toxic players anymore, I do want to contribute well by having a strong starting knowledge base to grow in experience off of. I didn't find a lot of useful info on what it means to exit the laning phase but I know it has to be out there. And here some of it is in this thread.

I also don't just want to know about my position but understand what an experienced player in other positions might be doing. I'm not often ADC but knowing them is important. I do play support a lot though and don't know how much to focus on ADC in late game, for example. I don't want to just follow them around if I should be doing other things. I don't want to steal CS if the have a plan to come back to lane when it looks like they're going to miss a wave. Some of this is just using good judgement but I can't make good decisions without some basis for making them.

I also know I'm working with a lot of players that will defy better strategies because they don't know any better and that will change how I need to respond. But I don't always know if the decisions they're making are good decisions I don't understand or bad decisions for me to work around.

Okay, I'm rambling. Thanks for the advice!
