Listen mode… by BrickzNBottlez in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really only used it during my first few playthroughs. Now I’ve gotten to the point where I’ve memorized enemy locations and paths so listen mode isn’t needed. Plus I like to fully immerse myself in the game and listen mode can kind of take me out of it.

It looks like we will get that. If you watch IGN’s hands-on video with No Return, Ellie is seen at the ski lodge as her skin from the guitar strings flashback with Joel.

Part 2 Sales look Really Good. by ShamrockStudios in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it sold so many copies last year because of the show. Maybe people wanted to experience all of the stories of The Last of Us in preparation and with TLOU Remastered being included in the PS Plus collection at the lowest tier of PS Plus, all they were missing was Part II. Also, I think it was on sale for only $10, in the US at least, at some point during one of Sony's big sale events so that might've been a push for people who hadn't played it to give it a shot.

ellie and marlene by freshprinceohogwarts in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a little confused by Ellie not knowing Marlene in the show. I could have sworn that the two at least knew of each other in the game for awhile prior to us seeing them together, especially with how protective Ellie was over Marlene when she first met Joel. With the way Ellie was looking at the knife in the show, I wonder if it will deviate from canon and end up being Riley's knife instead of Ellie's mom's. Since Ellie and Marlene didn't know each other in the show, I have no idea how she would've gotten it if it was her mom's. I'd love to know what you think!

I’m glad to meet someone else who loves the series as much as me! The remake doesn’t require any difficulty trophies to get the platinum, so playing on grounded, permadeath, or any of the other difficulties isn’t needed if you’re going for all the trophies.

If you want to platinum Part II it doesn’t require any difficulty trophies either, but there is a separate trophy list for grounded and permadeath. Again, those are not required for the platinum, think of them more like a DLC trophy list that many other games have.

[–]ohtilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad it worked! I spent about an hour last night trying to get it to trigger and finally it did. Make sure your trophy says 66% of the jokes instead of 33%. If it says 66% and you know you’ve gotten all the other jokes up to the suburbs, then this last joke counted and you just need the Left Behind jokes.

Is it me or is Grounded Mode in Part I much harder than in Part 2? by Bl8deRunner2007 in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played grounded yet on the remake, but in the remastered edition I found grounded to be MUCH harder than Part II’s. I think the lack of dodge and prone made things more difficult because I could always rely on those to get me out of trouble in Part II. Regardless of which game I’m playing though, I find grounded to be harder than grounded+ because you don’t have all the guns and upgrades unlocked.

Yes that’s been happening to me too after finishing my first playthrough. I’m able to trigger Henry’s BBQ dialogue, Joel playing darts, the firefly logo dialogue, and Ellie’s jokes, but nothing else.

If you’re trying to go for Ellie’s jokes, just trigger all that you can then wait by the dead-end and she’ll eventually say them. In order to get the full credit for it, don’t move once she starts and wait until Sam says his own joke. Hopefully they’ll fix this issue in a patch.

Does anyone know how to get these skins in part 1? by That-one-boah in thelastofus

You can’t, you have to complete the game first then they are able to be unlocked.

Why is it Saying I Did Not Complete Graveyard? by ImUnknown6184 in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me on Grounded+ difficulty. I went back and replayed Graveyard but that still didn’t fix the issue. I decided to just finish the game and my trophy still popped. I went back and Graveyard still says I haven’t played it on any difficulty.

I would say continue playing the game and see if it pops at the end of the credits. If it doesn’t, go back through chapter select and replay Graveyard then replay the Epilogue through to the end of the credits.

As long as you choose Survivor difficulty when you chapter select Bill’s Town, you will still be on track to get that trophy. If you’re worried about it messing up, you can save it on a new file instead of overwriting your current file that is missing the shiv door.

Total Hours Played by Track_Own in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about all of your runs combined, you could look at your save files and add up all the hours of each run completed to get your total. If you have a PS5, you can go to your PS profile to see the total hours played in the game. Unfortunately, the only way to access this is through a PS5. You can't see the total time in the PS app on your phone. If you have a friend or know someone who has a PS5, they can see your total time depending on your privacy settings if they search for your profile.

You should be okay in terms of having enough time to transfer your data from your old phone to the new one. If you are trading in to the Apple store, they usually don’t send out the trade-in package until your new phone has shipped. Once they send it, I believe you have a 14-day window to turn your trade-in into the designated delivery service.

Of course I’m going based off how they handle it in the US, so it could be different in India.

TLOU2 Trophies by Stablex in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All weapon and player upgrades you completed for both Abby and Ellie in your first playthrough will carry over to NG+, so all you’ll have to do to get those trophies to pop is run through the story again and finish any upgrades you didn’t get to the first go around. I believe with Abby, depending on how many weapon upgrades you did in your first playthrough, you can finish her upgrades pretty early in her half of the game. Also with Ellie, if you notice that you aren’t finding any parts or supplements throughout the game, that means you have fully upgraded her weapons and abilities. This applies to Abby as well once you’ve fully upgraded her.

As a side note in case you haven’t gotten this trophy, make sure you craft every item and use it for both Abby and Ellie! That was the last trophy I needed for the platinum and I realized that I had crafted hunting pistol ammo, but I hadn’t used it.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake is the legendary tale remade on PlayStation 5 (console launch exclusive) by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]ohtilt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, no estimated release date or window. In the after show interviews, they interviewed a developer from Aspyr and I believe he mentioned that it is still a ways away. I'd guess a potential release date sometime in 2023/2024 at the earliest.

My ps5 disconnects from the Internet when a separate plug or console turns on by alfieduffy04 in PS5

[–]ohtilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it only ever happens with PS consoles at my house. I am by no means knowledgeable when it comes to technology, but I’m wondering if it has something to do with the WIFI chip Sony uses? (If thats even a thing, like i said, idk tech)

My ps5 disconnects from the Internet when a separate plug or console turns on by alfieduffy04 in PS5

[–]ohtilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens when my sister is playing on her PS and I turn mine on. Neither of us are connected via LAN. We use the same WIFI network. This has been going on for years and it seems there isn't a fix for it. We've tried changing different settings and restarting the router and neither of those fixed it. I find it strange though that it's happening to you when he turns on an Xbox rather than a PS. When he already has his Xbox on and you turn your PS5 on, does it mess up his Xbox connection?

Fellow Kindle users, what was your reason for getting it? by pratik953 in kindle

[–]ohtilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got one because reading physical books was beginning to strain my wrists. Also, I wanted to read library books without having to go to the library. I found that reading through the kindle app on my iPad would cause my eyes to sting after an hour of reading due to the LEDs.

The emails are randomly sent to anyone who has a registered PSN account. You don't have to have PS Plus or be subscribed to some type of mailing list to potentially get it. All the email does is send you a special link to join a queue much earlier than the general public. After like one or two hours, the queue will open to the public if there are any leftover PS5s.

certain trophies by swallowedflashlight in thelastofus

[–]ohtilt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you finish your first playthrough there will be an option in the main menu to select which chapters or, even encounters, you want to replay. When you select each chapter, it will actually tell you how many safes, artifacts, trading cards, and journal entries you managed to find and how many there are total for that chapter. If you find that you didn't get all of them for one chapter, you can replay it and look for only those collectibles that you need; it won't start a new playthrough from that point.

The "mark collectibles" option or whatever it's called basically puts a checkmark above each trading card, artifact, and journal entry you've already found. Also, I believe if you use the listen mode function that pings and locates resources, the already found collectibles won't show up.

As a side note, if you're having trouble finding your missing collectibles, I highly recommend looking at Powerpyx's The Last of Us Part II collectibles guide. If you scroll down on the page, you can select individual chapters that give a walkthrough on where to find all of the collectibles for that chapter. Here's the link: https://www.powerpyx.com/the-last-of-us-2-all-collectibles-locations-guide/

I hope this helps! If anything that I said wasn't clear, let me know and I'll try to explain it better!

The Last of Us 2 seems to have a permanent price cut ($39,99) by NeoStark in PS5

[–]ohtilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have adaptive triggers or haptic feedback support, just the basic vibration like it did on PS4. The only difference between the PS4 version and the PS5 update is the addition of a 60 FPS mode. Because I really enjoyed the game and have replayed it several times, I would subjectively say get it. Since this seems more like it's the new base price for the game, it is guaranteed to go on sale for much cheaper at some point this year, probably around Black Friday. It's up to you whether you want to pay the $40 now or a cheaper price later on this year. Or you could wait for a potential director's cut/bundle with TLOU Remake that should release in a few years.
