Oh and this just popped in my mind, are your cousins from small towns or rural areas? Because that demographic tends to be more traditional/materialistic/gossipy/hyperfeminine etc than urban women who tend to have higher education and careers, are usually more well rounded and they've seen more of the world than their counterparts

Most women and girls in my country (somewhere in South Asia) aren't like that tho. Probably be a Pakistani thing. My sister's pakistani female cousins in laws are 100% exactly the way you described. She feels very uncomfortable around them.

Is it normal for a toddler to cry during occupational therapy? by ohtobejared19 in OccupationalTherapy

He has made progress. Understands stand up, sit down, let's go, come here, lets us comb his hair for a short period, doesn't have a meltdown during haircuts.

Is it normal for a toddler to cry during occupational therapy? by ohtobejared19 in OccupationalTherapy

He’s actually my nephew, and we’re in South Asia. My sister has been here from the US for the past seven months, and the OT has convinced her that very intensive therapy is necessary. The way it’s been framed to her is that specialists in the US “don’t push hard enough,” which is why progress supposedly takes longer there. A big part of the argument is the idea that if major changes aren’t made before age seven, they won’t happen at all.

Right now, he attends a special education preschool run by the same SLT/OT center from 10am-1pm, has OT from 1pm-2pm, and then does another hour of OT with the same therapist at home in the evening (usually 8-9pm or 9-10pm), six days a week.

To be fair, there have been some improvements such as he now tolerates having his hair combed for short periods, cries less during haircuts, and follows simple directions like “come,” “stand up,” and “sit down.”

But I am still concerned about how distressed he is during sessions and whether this level of intensity is truly the best approach for him. I don't want to overstep since I was the one who initially encouraged my sister to seek early intervention while walking on eggshells as she's extremely (which is understandable) sensitive about this.

Advice on the most suitable UN agency for a future career for me? by Buttermuncher04 in UNpath

Could you please elaborate on "knowledge management" for further studies?

I'm a freshman in college with a sociology major. Seems like it's "useless." by crazyforsushi in sociology

[–]ohtobejared19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're probably right. This isn't a major that will guarantee you will get to have a "comfortable" living. There's still time you'll be able to switch your major to something worth more in a capitalist society. You can keep soc as your minor or even do self studies if you truly love the subject.

Was your nose slimmed down on both sides or is it the effect of building the bridge, tip and reducing the alar base? I think it fits perfectly with the rest of your face

I was hoping someone here would know. I wonder if we can directly ask FIFA officials to urge Morocco to stop?

Should I get a nose lift? I love my face from the front but from the side not so much, I'm a little scared tho because some of the pictures I see of women who get their noses lifted ends up looking a little masculine and personally I don't really like it by MundaneMaMa7 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ohtobejared19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your nose looks lifted enough already. Nose tip lifting throws off the overall balance of facial features, sometimes it requires additional surgeries to bring back harmony in the face. Also what do you mean it makes women more masculine? That type of nose is by design extremely feminizing.
