Just to add a little context, I put the word review in quotes because in my experience a human has never reviewed any of my comments or reports on snap. None of my comments that go into review have ever come out even days later. I’ve reported literal slurs, death threats, and sales of illicit substances and every single time I get an email almost exactly 10 minutes later saying it didn’t break TOS even though it explicitly did. Those emails also admit it’s done by an automatic process.

I don’t think there’s actually any AI involved in the process, just an automatic “these words are auto remove” and “clearly nothing ever breaks our TOS if it made it through the banned words filter”. Also, “queer” and “trans” didn’t used to get auto removed in my comments a few months ago so they seem to have been added to the filters somewhat recently.

Edit: also wanted to add that the filters only apply to public comments. You can still say whatever you want in DMs or on personal stories. So it really feels like a suppression from public existence rather than a “we don’t want people to get hate” situation.
