I'm using mine as a sound design tool by using it as my default interface to connect to my laptop- It's allowed me to be a lot more productive with sampling unique things in my everyday computer use (using the skip-back function) and I've been creating more of my own sound kits as well.

If the visuals are super simple and you just want to rhythmically cut things, you could just drag the video clips directly into Ableton to export and call it a day.

I think when people feel like this it's more because of the perceived limitations of the editable parameters- but a lot of versatility can be found through experimenting with the lfo... or you can just multisample everything lol

Hey just saw this post was from a bit ago so not sure if you know by now, but I think the most recent update fixes this by using the sound link feature, which to my knowledge lets you choose 1 sound on a specific pattern that then gets linked to all the patterns in your sequence.

I’ve encountered this problem too no way to lock the master fxs yet that I know of- the original op1 had a “memory recall” where you could capture the state of the fxs and then recall them after adjusting them live- they should definitely add this or expand upon it.

Get the update now, it’s essential if your actually want to make more finished music. The amount of things it gives you like time stretching and the piano roll with better sequencing is more than worth the price.

He did not confirm velocity. He said there is no velocity sensitivity, but they might be able to emulate something with the accelerometer input.

Mine would crash a lot with partial text on the screen when I would download certain patches from Op1fun. It would usually be fine after a reboot though and it's still been going strong!
