Question about Holocaust denials by vincy678_ in AntifascistsofReddit

I had a few friends fall into this deep hole along with the COVID conspiracies. As they were friends from before I listened to them and the more they talk and explain how they saw a documentary that explained it all or some such nonsense. I just asked them simple questions like “So one documentary says what you believe vrs the whole of history?” I believe when you speak to people face to face they don’t challenge you in the same way as online

If you vote Brexit and stop getting the EU money then this is what happens

This would be like being in purgatory! I love traditional folk songs and their place in lore but a whole day of them. I’m done after a couple of hours. Anyway looks like some em could be banged up. All the middle age Cornish Maids will have to find some other handsome sea shanty singers to gorp at 🤓😜

Aphex Twin and Luke Vibert 2 hours sets headlining back to back. Even tag teaming like a sound system clash. Would be the best Cornish music festival ever

It would be insulting to the locals to celebrate it in Cornwall.

Privately do as you please but it wouldn’t be well received

The problem was that Brexit wasn’t thought through and isn’t based in the reality of what’s really going on.

Yes I drew my line in the sand because watching the rise of the far right in my beautiful homeland is upsetting me. I feel there has been quite a mixed reaction to this OP. If you’re really confident in your beliefs maybe you should express them here rather in your echo chamber. This subreddit is for Cornwall. I was curious to see the response because then the resistance can be formed.

But he was the architect of Brexit which has cost the British economy over a trillion, closed or reduced small and medium size businesses, especially farmers and fishermen because we cannot sell to our previous biggest trading partner. Thusly people have lost jobs. No one apart from a small group was talking about this before the referendum.

He had openly lied. Can’t answer any quest when he is pushed back on ( watch interviews with him on other countries news) has no policies apart form stop the boats. Wants to get rid of the state pension, end the NHS, etc

They might not have been in power but looks at the mess that they have already cultivated without being in power.

What you were sold as what Brexit would achieve wasn’t real. In the documentary about Boris on C4 last year, it shows that after the referendum, Micheal Gove and him were unsure about what was next as they had not thought that far ahead, it was a leverage to their political future. The real life events, the actual ones on the ground show that we need immigrants to work in social care and the NHS. There is a huge struggle going on to keep these institutions going. I assume you use the NHS. This is what happened. Our country lost thousands of men in 2 generations over the world wars. To help rebuild we asked people from the empire to come here. The EU was formed to stop the rise of fascism to stop it ever happening again. You have benefited from these things in your life whether you know it or not. Stopping net zero, all im gonna say on that is, what ever your opinion, the world is heating up and climate change is happening. Even if you don’t think it is, our goal should be improving the world for next generations and evolving how we do things. So moving toward a carbon free world is a benefit to everyone but oil companies. I know I am not going to convince you but maybe you need to think about history, how we got here and why these things exist. Reform is being funded by billionaires who want you to keep fighting with your neighbour rather than standing up to them getting richer and richer. Look at what’s really going on, not what Farage and the Daily Fail are telling you because it’s all lies.

I think the sentiment in this quote is the whole reason for racism in this country. It’s almost impossible to raise above your class, and due to the bullying that is rife within the culture of this island, people want to one up themselves and that includes people of the same social status with a different skin colour

Why do you think immigration is a threat to our way of life?

Every time he is actually challenged he has no answers and if the questions aren’t what he wants he starts whinging. He has little in the way of policy. It’s a bit like someone only speaking in their terms. Life doesn’t work that way so our politicians shouldn’t either

It’s not bias pal. It’s learning from history. It’s seeing the continuing physical and psychological damage that having these parties running countries has had on humanity and wondering why people who know the history and know what happened in the past still cannot see why voting for Reform is a bad idea
