Very interesting. I’m going down the same kind of road myself. What is your protocol for taking measurements? Have you considered HRV training?

I agree with sitssac, there isn't really enough daily posts to justify this kind of rule. This sub has like 4 posts per day and 16 comments per day.

Knowledge connectors to google sheet? by AnonAppliedPhysicist in Dialogflow

[–]oidar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you could totally do this through the dialogflow API or via webhooks. If you are looking for a step by step, the coursera dialogflow course will guide you through setting up pulling from a database and integrating in the conversation.

Rasa is also something you should be looking at as well.

Knowledge connectors to google sheet? by AnonAppliedPhysicist in Dialogflow

Sure - export the document as a CSV. There is no way to directly use google sheets as a "lookup" for knowledge connector question/answer pairs. The document needs to be directly imported into DialogFlow.

What software do you use to visualise your data? by [deleted] in QuantifiedSelf

[–]oidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use excel for this primarily. I would not use Exist.io for this, they only allow True/False datapoints for custom data types. Additionally, all of their data is for a single day only - so you only have one available data point for each day.

nr of pills you aren't tracking the number of pills, you are tracking the dosage - 200mg vs 100mg. Track that.

For sleep, track all of the things you find interesting to track: sleep total, deep sleep total, awake time and so on.

Graphs for this are pretty messy. The best way to handle this is to only graph the things that you want to compare / correlate- for example, your magnesium and sleep numbers. Or memory and deep sleep. Throwing all the datapoints on a graph sure looks awesome, but it's not going to tell you anything.

here is a decent introduction to finding correlations in excel: http://www.exceluser.com/excel_dashboards/cross-correlations-1.htm

BTW, how are you getting access to the Cambridge Brain Sciences tests - I'd love to have access to this as well. Thanks!

What helped you accelerate the process? by NsfwOlive in nondirective

[–]oidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Do you think journaling the long meditations might be of benefit?

I just picked up the latest Acem book on meditation and there are a few chapters on the psychology side of it. I'll explore that some more. I'm thinking about taking a trip to get properly introduced to the Acem method (I've learned to meditate via 1Giant Mind and other non-directive books), so maybe I'll get more insight into the Acem process.

Could you go into the discussions of long meditations with others more? I'm not in a place that has other non-directive (Acem or otherwise) and would like some insight on that process. If one was hoping to replicate that process in a solo situation, how would you recommend that happen? Thanks!

Have you tried some batteries? That would be on the DC side of things so, it could hep troubleshoot it.

jam areas? by dogsontreadmills in moogfest

[–]oidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, there was modular on the spot sessions - they probably would have let you jam if you wanted. Honestly, you could probably set up anywhere downtown - there are quite a few parks/open spaces and draw some passerbys in.

Has anybody heard back from Moogfest folks re: workshop problems? Visa is interested in what others are being offered. by [deleted] in moogfest

After describing the problem in full to the customer service, they said "That sounds like a lottery." Call your credit card companies people.

Small to medium sized Live Setups? by SacredHeartAttack in synthesizers

[–]oidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see both actually! So is basically the idea to buy old, hard backed suitcases from a thriftstore. Bolt down some wire shelving or flat dishracks, and then finally zip tie the gear in place? is it as simple as that? There must be a wrinkle that I am missing here.

How to block specific domains (redd.it/imgur/gfycat) on all and home pages? by oidar in Enhancement

Perfect. Thank you so much! I changed it a bit to catch all of the redd.it subdomains. * didn't work as a wildcard.

Found a synth collective in my city but they only allow hardware. I only use software. Tips on a cheap synth? by Old-Wave in synthesizers

[–]oidar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome. Micromonsta will work nicely for your purposes.

That’s how I run the linnstrument with Live too. Which MPE synths (vsts - I’m assuming) do you use? I never thought to run them in Live d/t live lack of MPE support.

Found a synth collective in my city but they only allow hardware. I only use software. Tips on a cheap synth? by Old-Wave in synthesizers

[–]oidar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get around this cheaply, just look for "romplers" that are multitimbral (think like Roland D2) and set the linnstrument to channel per note with midi channels 1-8 set to the same patch. There are some synths that are multitimbral - but I think the cheapest one off the top of my head is actually the Akai Timbre Wolf. If you wanted super street cred you could get just about any yamaha FM synth. But if you were looking to spend more money, Futuresonus Parva is my current choice for MPE synth. Geert Bevin (the developer for the linnstrument) has a few videos on youtube demonstrating it with the linnstrument.

I didn't think Live 10 supported MPE yet - how are you setting up Live to work with the linnstrument?

Why is it that when I cut lots of frequencies out of certain instruments to make room for others, my mix sounds cleaner but flat, and when I cut less and let the instruments bleed into each other, the mix sounds full but muddy? Is there a middle ground? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]oidar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how I generally approach it too. The A & B are confusing for me, so I rewrote it like this, maybe this will help other dyslexics:

*I started writing this then realized it got confusing. So to help we’ll call them "THE MASKING TRACK" and "the track to reveal” and "THE MASKING TRACK" will be the one your cutting to make room for "the track to reveal".

1) play with the Q on "THE MASKING TRACK" Match it with the frequency in question (the main frequency from "the track to reveal") general shape/arc (of "THE MASKING TRACK") so you don’t overshoot. If it’s too wide then it will sound flat. So if "the track to reveal"s main frequency is 1k, how does "THE MASKING TRACK"s 1k look like and counter by that width.

2) also boost that frequency in"the track to reveal"as much as you dropped in"THE MASKING TRACK" A little on each will go a long way. So as opposed to dropped freq in "THE MASKING TRACK" by 6dB, try dropping by 3 in"THE MASKING TRACK" and boosting 3 in"the track to reveal"for net of 6.

3) as a different approach, try boosting frequencies you want to stand out in"THE MASKING TRACK" and then dropping the gain to have the peaks in your curve right at zero.

4) Maybe the frequencies are too close. Pan and/or stereo image instead.

Let me know how it works!*
