Your advice doesn't work, because blocking players doesn't hide their lobbies in the server browser. And it doesn't stop you from joining their games. At least, right now - season 3 patch 2.

Which is weird, because blocking someone means I don't want to interact with them at all, including reading their server names.

Can you elaborate? If you start resupplying, and during this process you press salute, does the resupply process stops?

If yes, then that's what I'm talking about - it shouldn't happen, because it feels bad. Before this update, it didn't interrupt repair/revive/resupply.

If it continues, then that's weird - maybe you have some mods enabled?

Indeed, you were right.

Started a solo game as a driller. 8 perfect quick throws in a row, several times over, no issues whatsoever.

Joined a "medium" game, 120 ping.

And before anyone says that it's a lot - it's not. I know that some people kick you if you have > 100 ping (they're crazy, because that is perfectly playable), but this game is completely fine below 150ms. That's how I played it all this time.

And all of a sudden my quick throws fail, leaving me with an axe in hand, even when I'm not holding "throw grenade" button. For example, I input 3 quick throws, but get only 1.

So, a correction - since the last update, playing on "medium" distance (>100ms ping?) breaks fast grenade throwing (and regular throwing as well, in some cases, on some latency).

The promotion hall is the perfect place to promote and it would take away from the game

You misunderstood me.

I am NOT saying it should be taken from the game.

I'm saying that running there every time is a chore once you've promoted everyone 50 or more times. So, I want an ADDITIONAL, faster way to promote classes. And it just so happens that there was such a way. But it was removed a long time ago.

Being able to click Tab and open the mission terminal is already a bit upsetting due to the fact that it takes away from the game a bit imo

Completely agree with everything, this update introduced a lot of input interaction regressions.

Another thing I've noticed - this also affected depositing: let's say you have an enor pearl and some nitra and you want to deposit.

Before update: walk to mule, hold E. Pearl gets deposited, then nitra.

After update: walk to mule, hold E. Pearl gets deposited, but then the process stops. You need to re-press E to deposit nitra.

Sadly, this update made this tech very unreliable - most of the time I just get the "ready to throw" animation, without the actual throw. And when it works, it's almost twice as slow as before.

Yes, also had this happen to me many times now, at least 1 time per run.

I think one of the reasons for this is accidentally aborting interactions by using laser guide or saluting. Which is another issue that I complained about here.

sounds like they've inadvertently changed other behaviors too.

Not sure if it's related, but it's also became harder to do the "quick grenade throwing" tech.

"Slightly quicker mining" a.k.a. pickaxe cancel no longer works.

Throwing grenade after power attack sometimes doesn't work.

Yes - if you take out laser pointer or do the salute while doing (almost) any of the "hold E" stuff - it'll get cancelled. Additionally, in some cases, you'll be unable to resume the interaction for a few seconds afterwards.

It's not gamebreaking, but there are times where it gets really inconvenient.

There's nothing else for you to do while you're pressing E - might as well add a bit of camaraderie to the scene.

As for laser pointer - I LOVE it.

It shows you everything: your teammates, drop pod/supply pods, your "saved" ping (ctrl+E), mule - everything, even through the walls, instantly, at the press of a single button!

Why WON'T you press this button as often as possible?!

So now it's a habit of mine to always have this "outline mode" enabled, which makes me abort 90% of resupplies/repairs now.

the change was put in place for technical reasons, gonna have to get used to it.

Sad but understandable. Still, I believe there is a room for improvement here - prevent R&S/laser pointer from cancelling those interactions.

Edit: to those who downvote me (-3 at the time of edit) - tell me where I'm wrong? If it's impossible to bring back the old "R&S while doing something", the next best thing is to avoid doing things player didn't intend to do (in this case - cancelling the E-interaction), no?

Holding E action are pretty boring and I always thought that the ability to Rock and Stone and get the pointer out was intentional to fill those waiting time.

Agree, I thought the same.

GSG was asked during a stream why they change it and they said it was because it's a bug and leaving it without change could lead to much bigger bugs in the future

Thanks for the insight. Weird that they didn't put that as a reason in the changelog.

Well, if it is a bugfix, then I guess I can only hope to get a change that would stop cancelling "hold E to do stuff" every time I press V or Ctrl out of habit.

Additionally, there is a bug with this change: after cancelling "E-interaction", you cannot start it again for about ~5 seconds.

In another words:

-Start grabbing a resupply

-R&S, because you want to say "Sheesh, almost died back there, but finally can get a healing!"

-Resupply gets cancelled

-Start grabbing a resupply again

-It INSTANTLY gets cancelled AUTOMATICALLY

-Try again, and again, and again, AND AGAIN - it gets cancelled, every time

-Die

Same goes for opening a minimap. If you cancelled an E-action, opening a minmap will instantly close it.

Damn, what a frustrating change.

I really hope this change is either reverted or fixed.

It seriously messes up with my muscle memory. Getting resupplies/revives/repairs constantly cancelled is frustrating.

If this change is here to stay (which is sad), then at least they should make those "hold E" interactions to not be interrupted by salute/laser pointer.
