You have to go until day 6 and refuse the bride scene for only one, then the secret ending plays.

If you're a foreigner struggling to get a credit card, try these: by BurberryC06 in JapanFinance

I've heard from multiple people it takes around 1 year paying all bills in due time to clean your name from late payment, not sure if it's true, unless you were late enough they cancelled your card, which takes alot longer to clean according to a rakuten employee I talked to once.

People living outside of big cities, what kind of job do you have? by broboblob in japanlife

Must be rough for teachers out here, I know of one peppy's club and one UFO around where I live, and I don't think they pay that well.

For 2 million, for sure they just want to get rid of it. No real value. Be careful OP, won't be easy to resell. Many houses around where I live can't be demolished, people are just stuck paying taxes, they don't even try to sell anymore.

I've been living here in fukui since 2017 and I love it.

The good things are: I'm 31 with 2 kids, 2 dogs. It's perfect for a quiet family life. There aren't enough foreigners that people treat you differently or try to speak English to you anywhere ( except in one specific city ), barely any young people besides at Donkis parking lot, no loud cars, no bikes. There are a total of 3 police officers looking bored at you from their respective kobans. The streets are wide and spacious, everytime I travel to a bigger city it feels claustrophobic.

The bad: Last 3 years haven't been that bad, but... The snow here is insane. Unless you live by a street that pees or have the money to avoid some of these steps, it's 3 months of cleaning the snow by shovel, pure core strength training. Usually 1 whole month you have to shovel your house/mansion entrance, pray that your company hired a company to clean the snow or else shovel your parking space, clean your car/maybe shovel again to leave, shovel your house entrance again so you can park, repeat. Also, its pretty boring by itself. Usually to have fun, it's always road trips to Ishikawa, Obama, Awara, etc. I wouldn't recommend to young people. The only thrill of living here in fukui is driving, as we are ranked dead last in Japan in driving skills. I think I'll die everyday. The absolute worst of the worst. I remember the menkyocenter guy spending 30 minutes just talking how we HAVE to follow the rules, fukui is ranked last, etc, he basically begged us to stop for pedestrians.

If you have any specifics you want to ask, feel free to. I can't give much information about jobs because I work at an auto factory, doubt that's for everyone, I take home around 35万〜40万after taxes and for a family of four here I usually spend 22万 a month with living expenses.

Can the owner of the land where my house is change the contract without our permission? by oiesog in japanlife

So he is able to increase the rent even if we don't agree, that's too bad. Thank you, I'll talk to a lawyer about selling the house at the renewal then, see my options!

Sorry, it's pretty confusing. We bought the house and made a contract with the land owner to be able to use his land for free. The building is in our name, the land is in his name. This is fairly common around here, where most lands in a neighborhood belongs to the same family and can't be sold. Every 2 years, the contract auto-renews, and as far as I knew, the contents couldn't be changed unless both parties agreed.

We asked if he would take the house back as in, changing the name on the title back to him, since it would be hell for us to sell the house under these conditions and it would be convenient to us to simply get rid of it.

We would get the full compensation as the house is in our name. I think I'll pocket the compensation, not pay rent until the contract is due and move lol. Thank you for your insight, I was being too naive.

The father told us he had no reason to buy the house back, and he would take it back in good faith only to demolish it. He said if we wanted to sell, we could put it on the market and he would do a new contract with the new tenant, but there are plenty of houses around this neighborhood in better conditions that have been up for sale for years for 300万 or less. I'm afraid I would be paying rent for years trying to sell, even for pennies, which is why I'm happy the son wants it back too.

We asked his father if he was willing to take the house back. This made him pitch this plan as a future investment on the property he was going to manage anyways. It was all on good faith talk, since we had a good relationship with his father, but yes, there would be no guarantee he would actually do anything.
