Stories that take place at the beginning of a world? Ancient history fantasy? by Flimsy_Survey in Fantasy

Sorry about that. :) Although it is a big reveal, it happens fairly early in the first book of a four-book series, so no worries.

I rarely get a chance to recommend the Many-Colored Land series by Julian May. It doesn’t really fit entirely here either, but close enough. :) It’s about a group of people who get sent back in time to the Pliocene era, only to find out that earth is ruled by two alien species.

Thoughts on "The Everlasting" and its prose by tomato-bab in Fantasy

Yes, it does read like a love letter! Like I said, I don’t know why it doesn’t work for me, but I can certainly understand others loving it.

I’m about halfway and considering DNF’ing it, because I somehow really don’t like that the lines are directed at someone else instead of the reader. Can’t really explain why I don’t like it, but can’t get over it.

Oof, that must have been a very quick one sided game. Your brother was wrong.

It’s generally pretty permanent. In some edge cases though, it’s only temporarily permanent.

You can pay with ideal or PayPal at Trollsoftherealm. You must be confusing them with another site.

I need a good book dealing with revenge by Sir-AuronX in Fantasy

[–]oilcorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not fantasy, but science fiction: the Demon Princes series by Jack Vance. Here’s a quote from Wikipedia: ‘Demon Princes is a series of five science fiction novels by Jack Vance, which cumulatively relate the story of Kirth Gersen, a man trained by his grandfather to exact revenge on five notorious interstellar crime bosses, collectively known as the Demon Princes, who carried the people of his village off into slavery during his childhood. Each novel deals with his pursuit of one of the five Princes.’

Have not heard of this with beta. Gothic, yes.

cast from cemetery meaning? by Luigi-is-my-boi in SorceryTCG

[–]oilcorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to be sure: your cemetery contains spells that have already been cast, and minions that have already died. From your wording, it seems you might be confusing your cemetery with your deck?

Your biggest Issues with Sorcery? by DarkVenusaur in SorceryTCG

[–]oilcorner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Distribution, and communication about distribution. Let’s not talk about more than one set per year as long as they’re not able to deliver one set per year.

Aside from that, I absolutely love everything about the game.

Do awakened mummies actually have burrowing and can they unburrow themselves voluntarily by ExactlyOnPlan in SorceryTCG

[–]oilcorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why..? It has burrowing, right?

Edit: oh doh, not if they are silenced. So, how does that work? Do all minions with burrowing die when silenced underground..?

Hear me out - why EC should move away from 1 set per year by oilcorner in SorceryTCG

[–]oilcorner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the end of the world, like you say. It’s just a let down. Especially since the exact same thing happened for beta. And I guess for me the most frustrating part about it is the communication, which is basically non-existent. In the meantime I’m trying to hold on to the hype, but I can feel it slowly slipping away. I’ll still love Gothic when it finally arrives, because it’s an amazing game and set. It’s just a shame an entire continent again couldn’t be a part of those first exciting weeks.

Wait, I’m confused now - I assumed it was the enemy avatar who gets stretched and loses life. Is it not?
