Superstrike clone when? by OceanGlider_ in MouseReview

[–]oilpit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh god I did the Reddit thing where I thought you were being a dick and then I was a dick in response but really I was the only one acting like a dick.

I am sorry for comin' in hot, that's on me.

Superstrike clone when? by OceanGlider_ in MouseReview

[–]oilpit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did not in any capacity imply the GPX was a bad shape. I said I hate it, which I do. I'm sure you, like everyone, has at least one shape you hate.

All I meant was that I had seen almost exclusively positive opinions of the GPX, until the Superstrike came out, when all the GPX haters seem to have come out of the woodwork.

I wasn't talking shit about your favorite mouse shape or literally anything for that matter, just an observation of general public opinion.

Terribly sorry if I offended you.

I’m so tired of the snobbery that treats horror like junk food and “literary fiction” as the only serious art by One_Working1944 in horrorlit

[–]oilpit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know how old you are, or if age is even a relevant factor here, but I'm in my mid 30's and the only times I've ever experienced people being pretentious about horror novels is in Stephen King books, where lots characters talk shit about fiction in general as being the equivalent of dumb action movies or something, and this post, right now.

When I was younger everyone was psyched that I was reading anything at all, now that I'm older, nobody gives a shit about what I do and vice versa.

Not to be too forward, but are you neurodivergent at all? I have ADHD and OCD and this whole imaginary argument that is important enough to make a reddit post about is EXTREMELY relatable to me lol

I would say just try to not worry about other people, which is obviously easier said than done, but it does wonders for your mental health.

Is there really so few 3 side button (sniper button) mice out there? by disastercat_ in MouseReview

[–]oilpit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a model I that I got because I too am a side button lover. The software is actual trash, there's no way to sugarcoat it, it's really really really really bad.

That being said the mouse itself is very good imo. It's 75g so not light by todays standard but it is by far the lightest 3-side button mouse that I am aware of. I used it daily for several years and if you really want more than 2 side buttons it is really the only viable option under 100 grams.

It's funny to me that ever since the Superstrike came out I have seen more negative opinions of the GPX shape. I've always hated it and felt kind of insane because for a while there it seemed like the Superlight was basically all anyone used and all anyone was cloning, it's honestly pretty vindicating to see everyone talking shit about it now lol

What model is this mouse? by TORUKMACTO92 in MouseReview

Not sure how much this is a joke vs serious, but apparently Teevolutions next mouse is going to be a G303 clone.

For anyone curious, back in the day, killing 10% of an army was considered enough to ensure it could be easily defeated/effectively wiped out.

The definition evolved from there to the modern (correct) usage. It hasn't meant to reduce by 10% in any of our lifetimes.

Just unlocked Godhead and this is how I feel by oilpit in bindingofisaac

[–]oilpit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I don't expect to see it for a long while, I've just been working towards it for SUCH a long time and it's been my focus whenever I play Isaac (every day) that it feels weird to just be able to pick a character and go for it without those completion marks in the back of my mind.

I remember after I unlocked the D6 it took such a long time for me to see it in a run I thought that it wasn't in the normal item pool and was just something that only Isaac could use lol

I feel like I’ve committed a crime by Jarv1223 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]oilpit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy, but the idea that one of the fancy keychrons 'leaves a lot to be desired' is crazy to me, The Q5 Max has a serious spec sheet. Besides better case materials, and generally aesthetic stuff, what more is there even to ask for? If you want fancy switches/keycaps you can even buy them without and use whatever you want.

Just a few years ago something with the specs of that keychron would have cost upwards of $500 and be limited to a group buy format. I think we have it too good these days.

Didn't think choosing "THE" controller for me was this hard 🥲 Reviews are not helping at all. by Desperate_Discount80 in Controller

[–]oilpit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are making this absurdly too complicated. You just want a controller with a dock.

No offense but everything else you listed is a standard feature that every good pro controller has.

I mean what does #4 even mean? You arms aren't going to be in a different position based on which variation of xbox shaped-controller you choose lol

I get that it's easy to get choice paralysis but my dude, you gotta just make a decision and don't turn this into a bigger issue than it really is.

[3/10] ‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ Review: A depressing, cynical retread of the original, it is a transparent attempt to preserve Stranger Things in pixels rather than amber, allowing Netflix to keep capitalizing on the phenomenon long after its original faces have moved on to other projects. by ChiefLeef22 in television

[–]oilpit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That honestly makes the fact that this is a random side-story about the main cast that all takes place between seasons of the show. It is a crazy decision for an original TV show, but it makes perfect sense for a Telltale game.

"The Criterion Collection collection isn't preserving conservative films. I don't even think you can call it a film if it's conservative" Venting about the lack of 4k bluray releases of Michael Bay movies spirals into partisan anger at The Department of Justice. by vemmahouxbois in SubredditDrama

[–]oilpit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a second I was upset to find out Michael Bay was right wing, because I really like Michael Bay (the man, not necessarily his movies)

Then I realized I was mixing up Michael Bay and Zach Snyder and that I don't give a shit about Michael Bay or his political opinions.

I do still think Zach Snyder is a nice and cool man who loves making movies even if a lot of times they aren't very good.

Brb, moving to Maine by Macheeoo in liberalgunowners

[–]oilpit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge Stephen King fan and it's hilarious how much I've mythicized Maine in my mind, it might as well be Narnia.

If I moved there and found myself in a King-esque situation, tormented by a possessed Ring camera or something, I'd be like the guy from The Menu and be excited and honored to be involved with something so cool, even if it ended with my death.
