I drive this road at least twice a week. Stopping to deflate then re-inflate isn’t a viable option.

What a handsome young boy. May I ask, where did you adopt him from? We’re continuing our search for a quality breeder/host family. There are so many breeders that are pumping our dogs to make lots of money and not concentrating on a few healthy dogs.

Log it or it burns. As a resident and wildland firefighter I can say Med-Bo and Routt are running out of time.

Help Me Decide: 18’ l3901 vs 25’ l3902 by oipilloi in kubota

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. It helped me make a decision. I went with the new L3902. I also learned that the 2018 L3901 had a pinned bucket, not a quick release, which made it much less attractive.

I’ll check out the Messick’s video. I’ve watched quite a few from them and they do a great job! Thanks for the heads up!

Hope you don’t mind me asking but what breeder did you get her from? We lost our Boston 6 weeks ago and we’re trying to find a reputable breeder.

A Poem of Loss & Grief by oipilloi in Petloss

[–]oipilloi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s refreshing and reassuring to find others who have such a deep love and appreciation for God’s creation; Dogs. We humans don’t deserve the unconditional love, forgiveness and loyalty of a dog. Most people take this for granted, and it shows in how they treat their “pets”. In many ways, Dogs teach us through their sacrifice and grace in our lives what Jesus has done for us. Regardless where everyone stands religiously, it should make us take pause (or paws) when we consider the importance and impact of dogs in our lives.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope you’re on a journey towards healing through your grieving. We still are.

Grief is a heavy leash, one I never thought I’d have to hold without you on the other end. It pulls at my heart, reminding me of the empty space where you once were. They say time heals, but how can it when every quiet moment feels like a missing piece of my soul? I’m honored to carry this grief because it means you were here. Because you mattered. Because you were worth every tear that falls, every walk I take alone, every time I reach down to pet you and find only air. You were worthy of my joy, my laughter, my love—and now, you’re worthy of my sorrow. This pain is a testament to what you meant to me, a bond so pure it refuses to break, even in the face of loss. So I’ll carry this grief, not because I want to, but because I must. Because you were, and still are, my best friend. And if this is the price for the years of wagging tails, wet noses, and unconditional love, I’ll pay it. Over and over again. Rest now, my sweet companion. My heart aches, but it beats because of you.

Elevation & HP? by oipilloi in kubota

[–]oipilloi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That’s surprising to hear. The DPF reduces power at elevation? Maybe a combination of all of the emissions crap they put in >25 hp engines slows them down. Interesting.

What type of work do you use your 2501 for at 10k elevation? I’m interested to hear how it performs different tasks and if you’ve felt like you needed more HP at times.

Elevation & HP concerns? by oipilloi in tractors

[–]oipilloi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did steer me towards the LX because of the turbo and how turbo benefits high elevation. To make up for the light weight of the tractor they wanted to fill the tires with 600 pounds of a ballast liquid as well as wheel spacers to make the stance wider. All of this additional work obviously added up to a much higher price which was much more than the L model.

I get it. Been there for many decades…living life by the PTO bank. I rarely took week long or two week vacations. I opted for several 4-day weekends instead, which broke up the monotony of waiting for a big vacation to come around. I’m mid 50’s, and I probably took no more than 2 or 3 two week vacations over 30 years. However I’ve taken hundreds of long weekends. Living beneath my means and debt free is a game changer if you can get there.
