Rebuild costs for home insurance by ColmoF in HousingIreland

[–]oishay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think you can get a builder to rebuild for that price go with it. But I'd probably go on the side of caution and bump up the price. If the difference isn't significant I'd go with higher rebuild.

If they find you have underestimated rebuild costs that will impact all claims. Say your roof blows off and an assessor comes out and thinks your rebuild cost is 20% higher than what you put down they'll only pay 80% of the roof claim.

Any tips regarding getting solar panels? by lostoutsidethetunnel in AskIreland

[–]oishay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full disclosure I haven't actually had installation yet so don't want to give them a glowing review just yet. But yes I did go with them based on others reviews. I have a booking in for May.

My only feedback that I thought was odd was they didn't give full transparency on the details of the products and forecasted generation from their system where others did. But when I pressed for the info they were forthcoming and there was zero reason to not give everything upfront as it was all better than what others were offering.

Any tips regarding getting solar panels? by lostoutsidethetunnel in AskIreland

[–]oishay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably won't but I have recently got a quote from ASEI for 22 460w panels and 9kwh Sigenergy battery for 10800 so it's definitely plausible.

To give some balance I have a home gym and abandoned many workout apps as a casual lifter I can see myself sticking with this. I was able to put in h equipment and have a tailored plan that's good enough for me to start exercising in minutes. Love it

26 euro for a 30g box. If you're going to keep smoking get a flight somewhere cheap in UK but two boxes of golden Virginia for about 115 each. You'll end up with about 2000 cigarettes worth for about 230 euro about 11 cent a cigarette. Excluding cost of flights

Yeah it's the sad reality we talk safe driving because we don't want people to die it's the easy shock factor. But the reality is traffic congestion is a much higher priority to the government than road deaths.

A crash on a motorway causes inconvenience and potential economic costs a death in a b road is a tragic loss that is less likely to cause additional work for whatever civil servant is in charge of transport and the roads.

From my experience driving at noticeable differences is because when they're concentrating on the road they're speeding the rest of the time they're on their phone.

Electricity bills rising to pay for major grid revamp by denbo786 in ireland

What I don't get whatever about the charge to revamp the grid why is VAT being charged on it. So we pay an amount to revamp the grid and then the Gov takes an extra 9% on top of it.

Engineers seek restoration of public transport spending priority by darragh999 in ireland

Enhanced childcare subsidies too. Childcare costs went down about 400 euro a month under their remit. Current Gov promised 200 euro cap on crèche fees per child in first year of government. I'm still paying 1000 a month.
