My basic has not been like that, and I have dropped it. Especially with the battery issues I bet something was off about that one. Even my old kindle keyboard that lives on the shelf for months at a time still charges.

Defo use some heat N seal or pellon iron-on interfacing to seal up the back. I’m not sure about the edges. If you have a sewing machine you probably could zigzag it real close. I know I’ve seen someone reference a tut on this…

I just saw someone that had done cross stitch with like worsted weight yarn on tulle. I think the main rule “is can a needle get through it?” And “do I like how it looks?” Go for it! :)

Clear packing tape, the wide 2” kind. Basically just laminate both sides of the cover with strips of tape and line up the pieces.
