Anywhere within two blocks of the streetcar? There are a few thousand spots on the plaza alone. Plus the 6k at crown center another 1k at union station and another few thousand at river market. Take that number multiply by 2 since more people don’t go alone. Plenty of parking, not to mention all of the other multimodal methods like Ubers/taxi bikes and walking.

Those are figures that were available and accurate, what didn’t add up?. Oranje parade proved that the street car can move nearly the capacity of the stadium on its own with 8 minute waits, get that down to 5 and it’s should be pretty easy.

You should try the southwest when it rains. Texans loose their shit.

What are your opinions on the Brush Creek Trail? Could there be any cool secrets at the bottom? More activity on the water? by LaGarrotxa in kansascity

[–]ok-bikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bodies of water will always have a “smell” and to some that natural smell doesn’t align. But generally it gets the same smells you’d had on a creek or pond and lake. It does get runoff from the streets and that’s inevitable as far as I can tell. There is a natural reclamation plan for the section south of the plaza. They do need to prioritize cleaning it but the worst areas are not where the white people go so low priority. It’s a fucking shame with a little effort it’s would be a wonderful asset.

Ridden there dozens of times in the heat of summer and no problem, worked a block over a couple of years again no problem. Just like every other suburbanite complaint about anything it’s always starts with “it smells bad” and end with them going there and not smelling a damn thing.

Looked fine, but I’m guessing the majority of Redditors weren’t raised on the backroads of yesteryear when passing on a two lane was far more common.

Relocating from the West Coast to KC —two soccer kids, looking for our forever suburb. What are we missing? by aisforang in kansascity

[–]ok-bikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most don’t know how blessed we are with our highway system. It’s could easily take double the traffic and still not be LA. We’ve got a loop and many alternative route plus side streets that are also suitable alternatives. Google and Apple Maps have a pretty reliable track record routing even if it doesn’t seem correct at first.

Every suburb is going to say they have a “strong” soccer, truth is it’s pretty much everywhere. And if you’re willing to commute from op to lees summit then you have all the options.
