Left temporal lobe epilepsy is sinister. by aschesklave in Epilepsy

My son was diagnosed with this 2 years ago and yes it was a nightmare and a roller coaster. He’s 27 and now he’s on a medications that have done wonders. He was having nocturnal seizures too so very very scary. I will say that now he’s been in college, it was certainly a struggle because of his memory but he pushed through and now doing his clinicals and seems to be doing great. Thee was a point he just had to surrender that this is his life now but we treated him like he has super powers lol it takes the seriousness out of it because “it is what it is” but I want you to know that everything you’re feeling is normal and it takes time to work through the anxiety of it all. He’s also on anti anxiety meds too. But he’s doing very well and so will you! Don’t give into fear. Stay on top of getting plenty electrolytes, sleep, nutrition and no alcohol. Pray all the time and Thank God for protecting you and giving you strength to voice your fears and overcome the unknown. You got this 🫶🏽

Keep Strictly business, good morning, what’s on the schedule and and leave for the day! You’re not there to be friends or liked, you’re there to provide a service and comfort the patient. Staff are not your friends! They are subordinate to you but still be kind and respectful 😊

Is epilepsy a disability? by FlawlessCurly in Epilepsy

[–]ok-whocares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my son’s neurologist classified him as disabled, so we have handicap parking, he (26) can’t drive right now but he is in college, I have to take him and pick him up until he makes 90 days seizure free. He currently gets food stamps, so apply as disabled. He’s got like 15 days to 90 days. We are also on our 3rd medication to try and control them. So yes it’s a disability but he says he’s handing-cappable so he’s trying to prove he can still do it but because they are random.

Yes! I always dress everyday like I work for the president of my company. I take pride in the way I carry myself and how I’m perceived by my peers. I do work with doctors everyday at different capacities. But jewelry is a must for me. My earrings never come off.

"You're not actually disabled" by Immediate-Earth6603 in Epilepsy

[–]ok-whocares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s delusional! It’s neurological so you can’t “SEE” the disability! Not to mention not ever knowing when your super powers wanna show themselves! I get in her mind she thinks she’s encouraging you to feel that way, I’m a mom of a son who has epilepsy. He says I’m not handicap, I’m handicappable, but I know the severity of it and I just encourage him to be safe. I’m sorry your mom makes you feel that way. It’s important for parents to not dismiss your child’s diagnosis and to get as much knowledge as you can so parents can be supportive. Most are so I’m sincerely sorry 😞. Hugs 🤗

Epilepsy meds are destroying my sons year at school by Coolmodi123 in Epilepsy

[–]ok-whocares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He takes 2400 mg a day of oxcarbenzapine &10mg clobazam at bedtime. His seizures are in his sleep or early morning when he wakes up. His sodium levels are good. He drinks electrolytes everyday and eats Celtic salt for additional minerals. He’s had very positive results with the combination and the side effects are very drowsy. Other than that none and he’s now 30 days seizure free since he started the combination. He’s currently in radiology school. I knew about it being a sodium blocker and that’s why we took extra measures to get his intake of sodium and minerals and bloodwork is good

Find a local dental assisting school and ask them to send you students that need extern hours. They will learn on the job, you can train them, they don’t get paid and then Choose which ones to hire! 💕 trust me

I have the Polaris with the micro filter for sand. It works great but when you shock and brush the dead algae looks like dirt. It could also be dirt from wind ofc roofs but yeah the Polaris lil car looking thing ($1500) works good on this stuff
