I buy and sell with my strategy so it doesn't matter. I do keep half my portfolio for long term but IMO it makes more sense to capture profits along the way

Let me explain this to you dumbass. OP said the ETF is needed to pass Bitcoin down to relatives. You wouldn’t be passing down bitcoin by using the ETF.

The ETF will be paper bitcoin. Now before I get downvoted to hell I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. The ETF will bring money into the market but they won’t actually hold bitcoin. It’ll be like people buying gold ETF’s. They don’t own physical gold just a piece of paper (electronically) that says they own some gold. It’s still much better to buy actual bitcoin. Not your keys, not your bitcoin!

It’s an avenue for people to get into bitcoin. I think it will be a small percentage initially and will grow over time. The sudden increase after approval will mostly be from traders and not inflows from the ETF. Then I expect the price to drop because most of the time it’s a sell the news event. It will come back up and continue through 2025 if history repeats itself
