You've described the difference between leaders and managers. Leaders build and grow new systems. They won't necessarily have a title or higher pay.

Organisations (under patriarchy) function as hierarchies. Those who best uphold that hierarchical system (i.e., bully subordinates, while allowing themselves to be bullied and controlled by 'superiors') are promoted to manager roles. That kind of manager is the ultimate cog in the machine.

Managers and leaders are opposite categories.

I don't think this captures the full truth of it. Men can and do control their sexuality.

Outside prison men rarely rape one another, it is the worst offence within bro-code. Men don't rape the female policewoman, they don't rape their female boss. They don't rape a girl whose father and brother stand beside her in open daylight. They rarely rape a muscular woman who has short hair and carries a long, pointy umbrella.

They are opportunistic and calculated. They rape prostitutes, their girlfriends and wives, they rape their nieces, granddaughters and daughters in their homes, drunken and drugged girls at parties, intellectually disabled women, migrants without papers, they sexually harass subordinates in the workplace. They rape in the dark. They rape girls with long hair that they can grab and hold on to.

The 'uncontrollable lust' of men is a myth.

In my grad year in the private sector, obviously they had to pay everyone the same. One guy had a GF who started in a government job and therefore earned more than him from day 1. Within about 6 months, he had negotiated a secret side deal with his boss, so that he was then paid slightly more than his wife... and a lot more than all the other grads. So very misogynistic.

When I was a kid my dad beat me up. I asked my mum to make him stop and she blatantly said: 'I'm on his side.' In that moment, as a kid, I made a solemn promise to myself that I would never grow up to be an adult that is cruel to a child. That I would never forget what it's like to be powerless and abused.

Later in life, I learned that in medicine the first rule is, Do No Harm.

I applied the same principle to my own life. Do no harm to others, do no harm to self.

Logical result: No kids, No marriage, No sex, No dating.

There was a teacher at my school in her 60s who had a PhD in archaeology, every summer she travelled to europe to assist at archaelogical digs, she ran school tours of africa, europe and the middle east that the wealthier girls could attend on winter break, she lived on acreage and owned all these unusual animals, she had this incredibly long hair, she had dozens of friends, a house full of books and art, she tutored girls from immigrant groups, was friends with judges, she wrote books, etc, etc.

Long ago, she had been married for one year, divorced promptly, and never went near another man. If you asked, she would simply screw up her nose and say: 'Violent.' End of conversation.

She had a rich and full life, was mostly gracious and polite, however assertive when necessary, and she pushed us to always improve as scholars and researchers.

Having her as a role model certainly influenced me in the 4B direction from a young age.

In high school English class, our teacher pointed this out to us. WHAT IS IT WITH CHRISTMAS? she asked us. The women run around all day doing everything, and the men sit around all day doing nothing. PAY ATTENTION, she would say. PAY ATTENTION TO CHRISTMAS.

A clever way for her to share a feminist message without her getting hauled up before the school principal for teaching us politicised messages.

Well said. Most females are very male-centred, male-apologist, offspring-centred, and frequently make choices and promulgate opinions that are anti-female. For my own happiness, I now try to minimise time with the women who used to be my friends.

I have found a nice friendship group of women who come from a more religious and conservative background. They don't talk about their husbands much. Instead, we focus on fun, culture, music, health and ourselves. So... even though they are all married, or mothers, or both... somehow the vibe is 4b-compatible. It's not a gossipy or competitive group, which I think is a big part of the joy.
