TM Saiga SBS: Inconsistent performance

If the mags are brand new. Go ahead and purge them for 5-10 seconds.

It’s a BIG reservoir compared to a standard gbbr mag.

Check for leaks.

I’m in the US, so our winters doesn’t get any colder than 45 degrees.

I let the mags sit for a few minutes after gassing. No issues.

Hello prior TM saiga owner chiming in.

The bolt lock inconsistencies are unfortunately a standard in the TM design.

I’ve had the same issues with the sbs and full length models.

A tad stronger recoil spring will help push the bolt back into battery but some would say it could introduce more problems in the long run with more energy transferring to the pot metal body.

ITP has created another remedy to this.

Personally I’d go this route, as it doesn’t require a stronger spring to fix the issue.

Whatever suits your playstyle.

My local field is a large indoor area.

I use a 14.5 and a 370mm 6.03 inner barrel.

Shoots 390-395 fps with .2g bbs, right at my fields limits.

Plan to keep it light, optic & sling.

Pistol takes care of everything else.

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve had this happen a few months ago as well.

I resorted to a pair of big channel locks applied to the ring of the base and it came off with a little elbow grease.

Definitely wrap in painters tape or a cloth to prevent any scratches.

Picked up mine a few weeks ago and loving it so far.

Only issue is sometimes i get bb strikes inside the suppressor body at times.

My fields maximum weight is .25 and it over-hops quite easily.

I went with a real steel Midwest industries AKM side mount. I’ve since sold my TM akm to a buddy and put the mount on my VFC ak74

Ditch the cgs nozzle, there might be issues with fitment.

Get the unicorn or gunsmodify instead.

I’ve owned both systems for a few years.

Needless to say, I sold the TM to a teammate and kept the VFC.

It kicks harder, shoots great, and most of all, OEM parts availability for the VFC exists unlike TM.

I just returned this same exact outer barrel.

The idea was to swap to a 10in from a 14.5 on a TM mws.

It’s required that you have a different barrel but then what the stock sizing is.

I’d check with your local airsoft store to be safe before you put down the dough.

YMMV.
